POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dear friends,

We started this campaign with a simple commitment: listen first.

And over the past few months, we’ve been knocking on thousands of doors across Toronto Centre, talking directly with residents about what matters most in their neighbourhoods.

We’ve taken those conversations seriously.

Our platform is being shaped by what we hear at the doors. Safety, affordability, and housing have come up again and again.

Residents want to feel safer in their neighbourhoods, they’re feeling the pressure of rising costs, and they want housing they can actually afford.

We are bringing these priorities directly into our platform, with proposals focused on safer communities, greater affordability, and more secure and accessible housing options.

Because good representation isn’t about telling communities what they need. It starts with listening, and it follows through with action.

We’ve only just begun.

Walied

~ A birthday wish and a call to action.

On May 1, I officially registered as a candidate for Toronto City Council in Ward 13 - Toronto Centre.

This campaign is rooted in one simple idea: our communities deserve respect.

Respect means affordable housing people can actually afford.

Respect means investing in communities, not leaving people behind.

Respect means protecting community spaces where people gather, organize, heal, and belong.

Respect means good jobs, youth employment, and food security for every neighbourhood.

This campaign belongs to all of us and we need you with us.

Visit 𝐰𝐰𝐰.𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝.𝐜𝐚 to watch the campaign video, volunteer, donate, and get involved.

Please also mark your calendars:

Last Wednesday, April 22nd, we celebrated Earth Day with a fun and engaging workshop all about turtles 🐢 and our planet 🌎

Our students had the chance to learn about protecting the environment, caring for animals, and understanding why even small actions can make a big difference for the Earth 💚

A special thank you to Bibelta, who recently completed her 4th year at University of Toronto, for leading such an interactive and thoughtful session for our children. ✨

Learning about the planet can be fun, meaningful, and inspiring, especially when we do it together 🌱

Today we had the pleasure of hosting a group of students from @3estoronto for a presentation and a tour of Vistek Toronto. Included in the tour was our store, rentals department and our in-house studio (shown here) where our video producer Dale @artsandrec gave a short talk to the group! We can’t wait to see what this talented group of people share with the world in the future!

If July had a vibe… it would be: iced lattes, friendly rivalries, flaky pastry goodness, golden bingo wins and lemonade quenchers in hand 🍋🎉

💭 What went down this month at Carousel?

♟️ The Regent Park Chess Club (@regentparkchessclub) made its move — they launched their newest club with weekly games and tournaments every Thursday at Carousel. A place to make new friends and get to caffeine-fueled checkmates.
🎤 Our seniors stole the spotlight at Brunch & Bingo with @h.squaredco, it was complete with surprise tunes and contagious laughter.
🍓 Everyone stayed hydrated (and photogenic) thanks to Lemonade Lab’s signature drinks.

July was a whole mood. August? You’re up next. ⏳

🥰Come sip, stay awhile and catch a vibe.
