september art recap! like august, a month with a lot of ups & downs…

BART was definitely a highlight! I told myself no more outdoor markets (bc they’re more work/stress than indoor) but I’m glad I made an exception for this :D

I painted these at the last possible minute and genuinely wasn’t sure if I would finish them in time

I always get inspired at SJMade events seeing so many amazing artists in one place. Illo Mart actually brought in lower sales for me compared to my last two SJMade markets but it was still valuable for testing things before my holiday markets

2026 is the first year I’m doing SJMade, so I wanted to try as many events as I could, but I’ll probably be a little more selective next year, especially with the booth fees & travel time involved :’)

compared to markets, commissions have a very diff set of pros and cons - they’re less labor intensive and I have more control over my schedule and workload. plus I love being a small part of people’s wedding celebrations ❤️

I’m grateful for the trust and I still get nervous about each project every time! gradually learning to trust myself more ~
also grateful that people still value hand painted art!

I’d love to do more wholesale and consignment which feels like a sustainable way of growing my business. I haven’t had much time for it yet but I’m hoping it can be a priority for october 🤞

another highlight was going to my first Flower Piano 🌷🎹
my postcard & letter always provides an opportunity to reflect on the month. I used to have a journaling habit that I haven’t kept up with as much recently, so this has become another little way to document what I’ve been doing and thinking about

the juggling is hard but I try to be intentional about what I focus on ~

I just do what I can and let go of what I can’t, knowing that most decisions don’t have to be permanent

almost everything except work & art business stuff got pushed aside last month, but I knew october would be a quieter season when I could welcome some of those things back 🍂🍁

(also I got sick twice 😭 so def a sign to slow down)
