Tonight I let my 11 year old fill out my ballot. I explained to him how to read and understand a ballot, Props vs. Measures, and What’s fiscal. But most importantly WHY we vote.

His Great Grandparents MARCHED so WE can vote.

His Grandmother was only 6 when Black people were legally allowed to vote without a ‘Grandfather Clause’ or other illegal practices meant to keep us out of polls.

Most importantly I wanted him to learn how many people; of all backgrounds sacrificed their lives so WE can have a voice. 🙏🏾

No matter what happens Papas Mommy’s got you, and I promise it will be okay. 💛
