A first home and family close by. So much to celebrate! 🏡❤️

Congratulations to our friend Josue Torres on becoming a homeowner! We met Josue through my dear friend Andrea Eliscu, founder of Dueling Dragons of Orlando, a program that brings police officers and local teens together through dragon boat racing, building friendships, mentorship, and trust.

I’m so grateful she connected us!
The team and I absolutely loved working with Josue, and knowing he gets to settle into his own home close to family makes this even sweeter.

Josue, thank you for trusting us to help you take this big step. We are SO thrilled for you and can’t wait to see you make this home your own! 🔑

🏞️ Lake Fairview Park has been the proud home of the Central Florida Dragon Boat paddlers for 15 years. After a pandemic-related delay, the long-awaited renovation project—originally launched in 2020—was finally completed this year. Today marks the official Grand Reopening!

🎀 On Sep 25 morning, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by Lisa Early, Director of Families, Parks and Recreation and Director of Children & Education for the City of Orlando, alongside District 3 Commissioner Robert F. Stuart. The event welcomed many guests and young guests, with special appearances by District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz, Andrea Eliscu—founder of Dueling Dragons of Orlando, C.K. Lau, CHARGE Dragon Boat captain, and representatives from the Orlando Rowing Club.

🛝 After the ceremony, children flocked to the vibrant new playground, while adults explored the upgraded amenities, including:
- A modern restroom facility
- A scenic boardwalk with observation and fishing deck
- A shaded picnic pavilion
- Improved boat ramp access
- Two sand volleyball courts

🚣‍♀️ Dragon Boat paddlers and rowers especially appreciate the new bathroom and drinking water system—making training days more comfortable and convenient.

Huge thanks to the City of Orlando for revitalizing this beloved community space!

Happy Birthday, the first Dragon Boat in Orlando is 12 years old! Don't worry, you don't have gray hairs, you have "wisdom highlights". You just happen to be extremely wise!

Back in April 16, 2010. The very first Dragon Boat launched in Central Florida. We are proud to be one of the paddlers who welcomed you in town 12 years ago. Thank you the Dragon Boat donator - Ms Shelley Lake, and Ms Andrea Eliscu, who brought this Dragon Boat activities in Central Florida.

Team C.H.A.R.G.E. Dragon Boat - Orlando formed two months later in 2010 June. Thank you for the Life time sponsors: Dr Puxiao Cen, and Florida College of Integrative Medicine FCIM. Thank you for the paddlers who did coaching and paddling with team CHARGE in these twelve years. Thank you for all the supporters.
