I have a quiet ritual. Every time I see someone in our community mourning the loss of a pet, I feel a pull to pick up my pen. It’s my small way of acknowledging a heavy week.

Last week, this beautiful cat passed away, leaving a quiet space by the window for one of my friends.

When I sat down to draw this face, I wanted to capture the warmth in those green eyes and the sharp reality of the space they leave behind. Ink for the lines that stay with us; color for the presence they brought into the room.

To Tamara : this is for you. A quiet tribute to a beautiful life lived, and the memories that stay right where they belong. 🩷

A few weeks ago, I saw one of my followers post about their cat passing away.

I didn’t know them personally.
I wasn’t asked to paint him.

But something about his gentle face stayed with me.
So I decided to make this portrait — as a quiet tribute.
A small way to honour the love we feel for the animals who become part of us.

Sometimes, art doesn’t need a reason.
It’s just a way to say:
“You mattered.”
“You were seen.”
“You were loved.”

If you’ve ever wanted to keep a memory like this close —
A moment, a pet, a place that carries meaning —
I’d be honoured to help turn it into something lasting.
