My Mother’s Middle Son 😶‍🌫️

Before being blessed to have this amazing career I have today, and before being an Assistant Coach for 5 (Regular Season/Tournament) titles, this is where it all began at Norfolk State for me…

I never was fortunate enough to play college basketball but I loved the game so much I wanted to stay around it and Coach Evans, @nsucoachjones @coach_lv gave me a chance to be apart of something special in 2011-12 and for that I’m forever indebted to them.

One of a kind group, with one of a kind people who are still some of my best friends to this very day as basketball brought us together. I said the smallest of small roles with the program and they took me in and treated me like their own family and I’ll always and forever have love for them or that alone.

Everyone knows @kyle.oquinn our NBA draft pick and @pennywi11iams who won MEAC POY the next year and played in the NBA summer league but they both are even better as people than they are basketball players.

But there’s moments unsung heroes all throughout this season.
Wheeless GW 3 vs 1st place Savannah State
Marcos’s stellar play in the NCAA Tournament
Quasim getting double digits in in the MEAC semis off the bench
Hot Rod locking up multiple guys including the MEAC leading scorer at the time
Mac and his multiple scoring explosions including vs Missouri
Rob’s MEAC Championship takeover
Mel’s play down the stretch vs Marquette as a freshman PG
And that’s just to name a few…

All in all this was a special weekend because it was a chance to recap those memories and more but more importantly once again enjoy the love & camaraderie we have for each other.

I may have never scored a basket or put on a game jersey (I did practice sometimes lol) but I have experiences that very few will ever have and been places very few will ever go. When you talk about this team make sure you attach Hall of Fame to the title. #nsuhoops🏀🔰
