Grand Rising Y’all,

We are almost a week post-op from my Papillary Cancer Surgery in which my para thyroid and thyroid were removed along with a cyst on my vocal cords. This song I’m posting today is entitled “The Answer”. When I wrote this song back in May for The ASCO Health Conference with @grand_geee we had know idea the impact the song would have nor did we know I would be diagnosed with Papillary Cancer. Cancer attacks us all in different ways, when I penned this record I really placed myself in the shoes of people and families effected by is horrible disease. Now my perspective has shifted. Going through my own battle with Cancer while simultaneously living with Chronic Kidney Disease praying and waiting on a transplant call I feel this song has even greater significance. This song is for anyone living with cancer, care givers, anyone we lost to cancer, and the people who have been able to ring the bell 🔔 and beat cancer. S/O to the entire @healthhopehiphop team for supporting this record which is the new theme song for all Cancer!!! S/O to @4kvbeats for producing this tune. I knew I needed something edgy to get my point across and you executed that perfectly. This is what using hip hop as a tool to guide and teach health literacy looks like and is about. Turning a passion into purpose and bringing various communities together to engage to make change. The Glory is Gods! Grand G thank you big bro for putting little Phillip from 5th street o the world stage at ASCO I will never forget what that moment was like when I told them we were from Wilmington, DE! S/O to my brother @sonofcurtis302 who encouraged me to get this record done so quickly and to @reckroomtv for always supporting everything we do. @allhiphopcom this is a song the entire city and state can be proud of and get behind.

Don’t worry guys I’m still resting and healing but just know the work doesn’t stop and I have no quit in me.

Enjoy the song and if you’d like me to send it to you directly DM Me ASAP!!!!
