I’m incredibly proud to announce my decision to join the Canadian Film Centre Circle of Supporters, a dynamic philanthropy community that I hope to be a continuous life-long commitment close to my heart.

In these unprecedented times within our rapidly-evolving film and media landscape, it is more important than ever to support, develop, and showcase Canadian voices. Our perspectives matter and creating opportunities for emerging storytellers to be seen on an international stage is something I strongly believe in.

When I first stepped onto the set of a CFC set, I could have never imagined how deeply it would shape both my career and perspective as a filmmaker. The CFC has been a crucial forefront of building my career as a cinematographer at every step of the way, providing me a space where creativity is encouraged, risks are embraced and artists are given the freedom to grow.

Volunteering my time with the CFC has always been a privilege, and one that feels less like work, and more like returning to a creative home. Some of my most meaningful collaborations, friendships and artistic experiences have come from the people I’ve through this community. There is something incredibly special watching stories come to life alongside passionate filmmakers who are pushing one another forward.

Thank you to the team at the CFC for continuing to bring me onto these projects and trusting me to help bring these stories to life. It is an honour to be a part of the process and pleasure to see it on the big screen at the CFC showcases.

Here are some photos of my fondest memories with the CFC, and I hope to continue to make more with everyone involved! I apologise if I can’t tag everyone, but know you are treasured and cherished in my heart.

It’s been 1 year since filming began on our gritty fantasy short film Embers 🎥✨ To commemorate this special occasion, we are excited to share never-before-scene footage of everything that happened behind the camera. Through the rain, mud, tight schedule, and other constraints, we made a film we are proud of, with a talented crew who were all smiles throughout the entire thing. 💪🏻✨

Since filming began a year ago, we have completed the film, reached our crowdfunding goal and started our film festival submission process. All while planning for what comes next! We couldn’t have done this without the support of everyone around us.

The fire has just been lit. 🔥

It’s official. We did it!

After a long journey, we’re incredibly excited to finally share that Embers is complete. 🔥

We spent many months shaping, refining, and polishing this film to make it the best version it could be, and seeing it finally come together has been such a special moment for all of us. What started as an idea among friends slowly grew into something real, and we’re so proud of what we created.

We’re now officially beginning our film festival submissions, and we couldn’t have reached this point without the support, generosity, and talent of so many wonderful people and artists along the way.

To everyone who helped us, encouraged us, believed in the project, or simply cheered us on... Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Toronto’s film community continues to inspire us every day, and Embers is a reflection of what love for storytelling and collaboration can create from scratch.

We can’t wait to share it with the world. 🔥
