Yesterday’s Hat of the Day: “Impact” by @65bold and @theclinkroom is a cool landscape within a T-Rex outline showing the moments before impact. It’s very hard to wrap your head around spans of time that number in the millions of years ago. If we could time travel would we even recognize the Earth in the era of dinosaurs?

Another favorite design of mine, I’m glad for this mono black version. Super clean and very wearable. The lavender embroidery and UV is 👌. Really happy with this one.

Going through some pics on my camera roll, I realized that I completely spaced on posting my selections from the “Layne” Fresh Colorway pack by @layneb24 from @theclinkroom . This pack was an instant hit in my book, especially since I was able add two designs that weren’t already in my collection. I grabbed four hats immediately when they dropped. Let’s get into it:

Pencil Kong by @inkparkco comes from the earliest days of Clink 2.0 and has been one of my all time favorite designs by Jon. Making the pencil look like an actual yellow no. 2 pencil was an excellent play and the red bandana is the perfect pop of color.

Kon’nichiwa Kong by @caseyheacockwhite is another early 2.0 design. I am shocked it took so long to get a recolor. Love the stone crown on this rather than white and the blue Kong is 👌

Triple Threat by @40swords is a design that I was missing in my collection. Glad I was finally able to fix that with this mono black version. Subtle colors in the embroidery are just right.

The Hoods by @65bold is clean and sinple. While some may not love the choice of lavender for the embroidery and UV, I think this version is super wearable. Very cool hat.

This is my collector pack. Been waiting a full year for it and I went with a full Japanese theme. Mix of my favorite designs of all time plus a few I never got a chance to grab myself.

Smiles & Cries was the first clink preorder I ever received in hand. Extra special to me, it was really what solidified my love of #theclinkroom I wanted to put it on a simpler colorway. The embroidery came out incredible.

Retro Sakuranami was a total grail, that I recently was able to grab. Decided to go with teal tones. Nothing crazy. Just a beautiful clink.

Ronins has this very menacing look but the original color scheme was light. I wanted to lean into a more demonic vibe for it. The metallic red outline gives it a pop of shine.

Nine tails is another huge grail. Still can’t find the OG but I will eventually. I looked a bunch of references photos for the color scheme. Found a lot of blue fire concepts. Decided to lean into it.

El Tengu is my actual favorite from the patch. This was a must. I have a tengu tattoo’ed on my right shoulder. Wanted to lean into more fall tones. The OG scheme was really loud and crazy so I went for something that was more subdued.

Phantom Fencers was another grail that I was able to grab in the OG colorway recently. I wanted to give it a more “phantom” edge. I love lavender, it s a rather rare color to see. Thought it gave it a really ghostly touch.

About This Design

This is a take on the hoods used in training birds-of-prey. In falconry the hood is used to keep the bird in a state of calm. Well forget that, you put a hood and turn into the hero that you're meant to be!
