Azhar Alkreen

Mohamed (Moe) Elshafie
Six Seconds, The Emotional Intelligence Network .

Zoom

We need to name it to tame it. We have to feel it to heal it. This is how we manage #emotions This is self #leadership #emotionalintelligence @6secondsmeai

This time last year, we got on a plane to Singapore and invested in our own learning and growth.

We spent days immersed in our Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Practitioner Training — connecting, reflecting, learning, being challenged and, most importantly, doing the work ourselves. Thank you Sue from @6secondseq

Because you can’t really teach Emotional Intelligence without being willing to practise it.

And that work didn’t stop when we left Singapore.

If anything, it was just the beginning.

Emotional Intelligence isn’t a program you complete or a strategy you pull out when things get hard.

It’s a way of being.

It’s everyday work.

Noticing emotions.
Recognising patterns.
Pausing before reacting.
Making more intentional choices.
Living in alignment with our values.
Practising empathy.
Connecting to purpose.
And sometimes getting it completely wrong, reflecting, and trying again.

Once we have the language, framework and tools to understand and grow our Emotional Intelligence, we start to see opportunities to practise it everywhere.

In our parenting.
Our relationships.
Our leadership.
Our motivation and drive.
Our wellbeing.
Our performance.
And in the relationship we have with ourselves.

A year later, we are still learning. Still reflecting. Still being challenged. Still doing the work.

Because EQ is never really “done”.

And honestly… we wouldn’t want it to be.

The inner work is ongoing — and it is soooo worth it. 🩵
