Can't believe 11 years has gone by so fast, yet, I feel like I dont remember anything before you. Its been a wild ride and I can't think of anyone I'd rather be on it with.

To say I’m proud is an understatement.

My daughter helped organize a 600-student walkout to protest ICE and our corrupt administration, and watching these young people stand up for what they believe in was powerful. They led themselves with courage, compassion, and a deep sense of justice.

They spoke out for immigrant brothers and sisters—and for anyone who has been mistreated, abused, or taken advantage of. Seeing them advocate for dignity and humanity gives me so much hope for the future.

As John Lewis said:“Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America.”

Happy 13th Birthday, my firstborn son, my trailblazer,

You changed my world. You have taught me what unconditional love feels like. Watching you grow into the young man you are becoming has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

At 13, you are stepping into a new season — not just as a teenager, but as a leader. You have a natural strength that draws others to you. You stand up for what’s right. You care deeply. You notice when someone is hurting. Your heart is tender, your spirit is strong, and your empathy makes you powerful in the most beautiful way, man I wish I could convey how much you mean to BamBam and Malcomb.

You are a leader, not because you demand attention, but because you lead with kindness. You are a sympathizer — someone who feels with others and for others. That is rare. That is special. That is who you are.

I pray that this year you grow in wisdom, courage, and confidence. May you always know who you are and whose you are. May you never lose your compassion. May you be bold enough to chase your dreams and gentle enough to lift others as you rise.

And I hope you always remember this: I look at you, and I see someone I admire. Someone I respect. Someone I want to be like when I grow up 😉☺️😬

Happy 13th birthday, my son. May this year be the beginning of incredible things. I am so proud to call you mine.

Xoxo

Happy Birthday, my amazing brother! I’ve been so lucky to not just have you as a brother but as a best friend. Working alongside you at Hoffman Bikes was such a privilege, and I’ll always cherish the memories we created together- traveling the world together. You’ve been the best uncle to my kids—they adore you, and we’re all so blessed to have you in our lives. Your kindness, your generosity, and the way you show up for everyone is truly something special. I hope this year brings you all the happiness and love you deserve. Love you BIG!
