POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Nothing lasts forever, even the longest things…
There‘s so many posts bidding farewell to this iconic aircraft - rightfully so - it‘s extremely unique and quite a record setter! So here‘s my little contribution to celebrate the super stretch a340 variant! 🫶🏼

This style of post is surely a little different from my usual layout, but so is the a340-600, seems quite fitting! My journey with the a346 started more than 10 years ago, when my grandparents got to fly this beast to the US. They even brought me a safety card back then which I still treasure until today and told me about the insane size of the fuselage and particularly the lower deck! I was instantly fascinated as a child! 😍

Throughout the time, I got to see a few examples including European cargo‘s which used to come to VIE frequently post covid, as well as occasionally LH‘s during my FRA visits - those in particular were even undergoing heavy checks at Austrian Technik for some time starting 2006 👀 something that only very few people actually know!

It took until September this year for me to experience it upclose, I just couldn’t let it go without getting a taste of one of the longest commercial aircraft around. And what a flight it was! LH418 and 419 FRA-IAD and IAD-FRA the subsequent day on D-AIHX and AIHY with @727clipper and a incredibly kind crew who did their best to make the journey an unforgettable one!💙

We should not forget that this is not the last A340-600 operator in the world, with a few of the type still remaining scattered across the planet. But for sure those are much harder to come across, mention not, get aboard, sadly

Thank you, @lufthansa a340-600, for the incredible experiences I was privileged enough to collect so close to your retirement! Fly higher 🙏

Some dreams feel like memories of a life we never lived. 🇻🇪

Today, I finally got to meet my favorite aircraft, the magnificent Airbus A340-600. A moment I’ll always be grateful for.

But seeing the colors of VIASA on an aircraft like this hits differently. There’s a strange kind of nostalgia for an era I never got to experience, for an airline that once represented so much of Venezuelan aviation and whose legacy lives on in our memories.

Some things are too beautiful to be forgotten. And some dreams feel like coming home. ❤️‍🩹

A special thank you to the amazing crew for their warm welcome and kindness. Your hospitality made this already unforgettable moment even more special. 🇻🇪
