Pleased to finally announce Mobilise Everywhere: A Compilation for Climate Justice. When the country was literally on fire earlier this year and we were bombarded with one horrifying headline after another, I wondered if loving music a lot could help a teeny tiny bit.

And what better way than to piggy back on the talent of others! @forsaai and I asked 32 of our fav artists to donate one song: some are newly written. Some are demos and live recordings. All genres. Anything goes. But we did sequence it like Rob Gordon in High Fidelity would’ve advised.

Check out the result on Bandcamp. It’s £8, and all proceeds go to the Climate Justice Coalition @climatejustice_coalition. They believe that climate justice does not exist in a bubble, so their work intersects with opposing the genocide in Gaza and the rise of the far-right globally. They also work to hold billionaires to account for their role in stoking migrant hatred and speeding up climate policy backsliding.

The featured track is by actual official genius @josephineillingworth. She wrote it especially for the album and it’s called “All My Sisters Are Birds.” That one is out now. The other 34 come out next Friday, 30 October.

The phenomenal artwork is by @beck.oh. Thank you x a million.

7ebra - How to Land a Plane

There’s something wonderfully peculiar about 7ebra’s How to Land a Plane. The Swedish twin sisters have crafted a delightfully odd blend of dreamy indie pop, fuzzy guitars, hypnotic synths and gorgeous vocal harmonies that somehow manages to sound both effortlessly charming and wonderfully awkward. Beneath the playful melodies lies a fair bit of anxiety, insecurity and melancholy, although it’s all delivered with a healthy dose of deadpan humour. There’s a scrappiness and unpredictability to the whole affair that only adds to its appeal. Quirky, understated and quietly affecting, it’s a lovely little record that finds plenty of beauty in the uncertainty of everyday life.

Livsförlängande och maximalistisk indiepop med göteborgarna Tomma Intet på Kollektivet Livet. Hur många är dom på scen egentligen? Minst 37, känns det som. Hela tiden upptäcker man nån ny begåvad typ som står bakom nån basist och grejar med en synt. Fascinerande att det aldrig blir brötigt utan bara storslaget. Det säger något fint om nivån av musikalitet här. Jag är fortfarande glad dagen efter. Gillade även förbandet 7ebra som spelade trummor med fötterna.

Ny vecka, nya album

Ett inslag där jag slänger in lite goa album (och Ep:s) från veckan/veckorna som gått. Syftet är att försöka främja albumformatet och sprida härlig musik utanför mittfåran. Följ artister, lyssna på musik, köp skivor, gå på konsert, förlora er i merch.
