Being able to box from the outside, come in and out, and fight at close range gives a fighter more options and makes them harder to read. Boxing from the outside allows a fighter to control distance, use the jab, manage the pace, and make the opponent reach or overextend. Boxing in and out is useful for quickly entering range to land combinations before creating distance again, minimising the time spent in danger. Close-range fighting, on the other hand, allows a fighter to work the body, throw short punches, smother an opponent’s offence, and apply pressure when there is little space to escape. A well-rounded boxer doesn’t necessarily need to use all three constantly; the purpose is knowing when each range is most effective and being able to switch between them depending on the opponent and situation. After 33 days Today marks my last day in the Dominican Republic. As I close out this chapter I want to thank God for allowing me to complete my fights safely without any lasting damage or injury, Champion Spirit Country Club for sponsoring my travels, competition uniforms, training camp, accommodations and coach, the Bahamas Olympic Committee & Bahamas World Boxing for allowing me the opportunity to represent the country that I love at my first multi-sport games. Unfortunately, I did not make history the way I planned by becoming the youngest Bahamian boxer to medal at the CAC Games, but is not the end as my next goal is to make history by becoming the youngest Bahamian boxer to medal at the 2027 Pan American Games... but first, I have to earn my place there on October 17–25 at the 2026 Pan American Championships in Puebla, Mexico, where I will fight for qualification. My goal remains the same: represent The Bahamas, make history, and attempt to create opportunities for those behind me 🤲 #santodomingo2026 #boxing #dominicanrepublic #sport #deporte

Qualifying for and being selected to represent The Bahamas at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo is an opportunity that fills me with immense gratitude. Every early morning run, every difficult training session, every setback, and every sacrifice has led to this moment. I am deeply thankful to God, my family, coaches, teammates, supporters, and everyone who has believed in me throughout this journey. Wearing the Bahamian colors on an international stage is both an honor and a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I am proud to represent my country alongside some of the region’s best athletes, and I will step into the ring with humility, determination, and the goal of making The Bahamas proud and becoming the youngest Bahamian to Medal at the games at 21yrs old. This achievement is not the end of the journey, but another step toward becoming the best athlete and person I can be. #santodomingo2026 #bahamas #boxing #boxeo
