To everyone who helped shape the work

In a few days, I’ll be leaving Michigan and moving to a new city.

Before I go, I wanted to take a moment to show my appreciation for some of the people who have supported my vision, encouraged me to keep creating, and had a positive impact on my work and experiences along the way.

In order of the photos:

Rich — Even though I haven’t photographed much over the last couple of years, Rich and I would always come up with ideas that got me creating again. You’ve always been a positive light and someone who checked in when it was really needed. I appreciate you more than you know.

Ahmad — We shot our first paid gigs together, and from there we went on to shoot countless more gigs and freelance projects. We’d go all over the city experimenting with different styles, and those were some of the best times. Watching you grow and succeed the way you have has been amazing and well deserved.

Mary — My supportive and amazing partner. I have nothing but love and respect for you. The perfect model for my camera, especially on all of our vacations. I’m grateful for everything we’ve experienced together and look forward to continuing our journey.

Jay — The first person I was around when my camera went through its first few photographs. We jumped all over Detroit and you showed me the ropes. I still remember our conversations about taking this seriously. It’s been great seeing you pave your own way. Congrats, man.

Roslyn — From shooting my first gig for DITNB, photographing your personal events and moments, and giving me other opportunities in business, you’ve helped me in more ways than I can count. I always appreciated the critiques you gave me, and I know they played a part in helping my images become what they are today.

Miguel & Dezi — From school friends to helping me with modeling, I knew we could make some good photographs with your eye for fashion. Miguel and I go all the way back to elementary school, so it’s always been awesome reconnecting and catching up. Y’all really helped me figure out the direction I wanted to take my photography.

Elias & Sumayah — From playing video games together in middle school to eventually meet
