TOKYO IS ALREADY GIVING ME EVERYTHING. 🇯🇵💚⚡

First person I run into at the airport? SUPER MODEL. NEW YORKER. LEGEND. TYSON BECKFORD. 🤯🔥

And the wild part? Beyond the iconic face and legendary career, this man helped me out with my eyeglasses case! 😂🙏🏽 Just genuine, down-to-earth, and seriously cool. No ego. Just good energy. THAT’S REAL CHARACTER.

From breaking barriers as the groundbreaking face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo Sport to magazine covers, global fashion campaigns, acting, hosting Make Me a Supermodel, and inspiring generations of Black male models — Tyson helped change the game. 🐐🖤

A salute to a true pioneer who helped put Black male supermodels on the global fashion map. Respect where respect is due. 🫡💯

📲 Show love: @tysoncbeckford

And just like that… PRTC: TOKYO 💚 MEGA BYTES has OFFICIALLY BEGUN!

RETRO FUTURISM in real time. Unexpected encounters. Real people. Real culture. No script — just the journey. Tokyo, you’re showing me EVERYTHING. 🌐⚡

MORE MUSIC. MORE CULTURE. MORE TO COME.

I love how visual art and music bring people together. They invite exploration and help us better understand ourselves and the world around us. And beyond that, there’s something special about the great conversations, shared laughter, and exchange of ideas they inspire

PRTC TOKYO has officially landed. 🇯🇵 I've been here since Wednesday, and the city is already showing me everything. First stop: Skytree, then Shibuya. And somehow, the first familiar face from NYC showed up at the airport. 👀 @tysoncbeckford, the feature is coming, my guy.

💜 THE CITY KNOWS ITS OWN. 🗽🎨

Sometimes NYC puts the right people in your path at exactly the right time.

I recently had the pleasure of running into QWEEN FANG — a talented rising graffiti artist, a seriously cool and down-to-earth person, and someone who genuinely LOVES NEW YORK CITY.

She doesn’t just represent NYC — she IS NYC. The energy. The creativity. The attitude. The individuality. The culture. The beautiful chaos. 🗽💜

From PRTC 💜 NYC, we’re saluting Qween Fang and the artists who continue to put their mark on this city and keep its creative spirit moving forward.

And THAT is what RETRO•FUTURism is about.

Respecting where NYC came from.
Celebrating what NYC is.
And watching the people shaping where NYC is going.

🔥 SALUTE, QWEEN FANG. 🔥

Go check out her work, follow her journey, and keep your eyes open for what she puts up next.

PRTC 💜 NYC × RETRO°FUTURism

SALUTE 🫡 TO A NEW YORK ICON.

Some people document New York.

Some people ARE part of the history they document.

Big salute to Shadi Perez — Photographer, Videographer, Director, and longtime visual documentarian of NYC culture.

From the ’90s to now, Shadi has captured the worlds of Supreme, Stüssy, skate culture, hip-hop, fashion, music videos and the people who helped shape downtown New York. His work has included Supreme’s early imagery and photography connected to artists including Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, A Tribe Called Quest and The Beastie Boys.

And for me, this one is personal.

I've known Shadi since my days working around SUPREME, Stüssy and Union — back when NYC culture was being built in real time.

No big ego.
No unnecessary noise.
Just another humble NYC original who has been putting in the work for decades.

That's the kind of person PRTC 💜 NYC and RETRO°FUTURism will always salute.

THE FUTURE REMEMBERS WHERE IT CAME FROM.

🫡 SALUTE, SHADI.
📸🎥 Thank you for documenting the culture.
