POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
One of the biggest wins for us is seeing students come back to Memphis in new ways.

Samuel Lambert has joined us for Spring Break with Mizzou the last two years, and this summer he traded being a volunteer for being on staff with Service Over Self.

Over the past several weeks, he's been leading volunteer teams as they partnered with a homeowner in Orange Mound to help reroof a home.

We love introducing students to Memphis during one week in March, but it's even better when those experiences inspire them to invest more time serving alongside the people and organizations making a difference here.

Way to go, Samuel. Thanks for spending part of your summer in Memphis. 👏

After 4 years of working for the Mizzou BSU and 812 Ministries, I am moving on after this semester.  I came into this building looking for the “Black Student Union” but God had something different in mind for me. This ministry has been such a blessing to me — I’ve grown so much, made lifelong friends, met my amazing wife, and have stories and memories I’ll recall for the rest of my life. I’m beyond thankful for all of it and am so grateful that God has used me as His minister on this campus. God certainly used this place to minister to me.

I am stepping out in faith and am now officially on the lookout for new opportunities! I’m excited (and a little nervous) to see where this next chapter leads. If you know of any roles you think I’d be a great fit for, I’d love to hear about them. I’d love to continue work in ministry, but am more than willing to pivot into marketing or people-oriented work.

Thank you all for your love and support always — I can’t wait to see what’s next! 🙏🏼❤️
