This Independence Day felt a little different.

As we celebrate 250 years of America, I’m also celebrating something even more personal… that our family gets to celebrate it together.

As we get closer to July 18, the day that changed our lives forever, I’m reminded just how fragile life really is. There was a time when we didn’t know if Layla would be here to celebrate another Fourth of July with us. We didn’t know what the future would hold after her accident.

But by God’s grace, she’s here. She’s healing. She’s smiling. She’s making memories with us.

Freedom means a little more to our family these days. The freedom to gather around the table, hug our kids a little tighter, watch fireworks together, and never take a single moment for granted.

Today we’re celebrating 250 years of America, but we’re also celebrating life, healing, hope, and the countless prayers that carried our family through the hardest season we’ve ever faced.

Happy 250th birthday, America. 🇺🇸

And thank You, God, for giving us another year together. ❤️

This year hits different.
When I look at this video ,all I see is grace, protection, and a reminder of what truly matters.

2025 came with some of our hardest moments — moments that stopped our world and brought us to our knees… especially Layla’s car accident. As a mama, there’s nothing that can prepare you for that phone call. But God carried us, surrounded us, and reminded us just how precious each day is.

And here we are.
Together.
Healing.
Closer.
Stronger than ever.

Today, I’m thankful for:

🤍 God’s protection over our girl
🤍 Family moments I’ll never take for granted again
🤍 The laughter that still fills our home
🤍 A husband who leads with strength and love
🤍 Kids who amaze me with their resilience
🤍 Friends and community who prayed us through
🤍 Every tiny, ordinary moment that isn’t ordinary anymore

If this year taught me anything, it’s this:
Life can change in an instant… so love hard, give thanks often, and don’t wait to celebrate the people who mean the most.

The only thing holding her back is swelling in her right leg, pain in her hips, and ankle or she could do a lot more.

We have good days and bad. One of her healed incisions opened up last night due to swelling. Pray for answers! She still can’t feel her right foot and has drop foot.

She wants to get back to normal so fast but we are learning that a few obstacles may not allow that so just giving it to God. It’s on his timing. We are all learning many things from this accident.

1. Life is short- be grateful for everything
2. Family is everything. Fix relationships
3. Give God all of the Glory because she shouldn’t be here, he saved her.
4. Patience is key

68 days. 13 surgeries. Bones shattered. Doctors said “ she may not walk again”… but God said “watch this.”

Today she rang the bell, walked out of rehab, and showed the world what faith, grit, and miracles look like. 🙌🏼
