Sneaking into your mom’s closet, slipping into heels that were far too big, barely being able to walk, yet somehow feeling like you were on your own runway.

That’s exactly why this design feels so familiar.

At first glance, it looks like someone is simply wearing heels several sizes too big. But that’s the illusion. Every proportion has been carefully engineered to fool the eye. Your foot actually sits much deeper inside the shoe, hidden by an inner sock-like construction that keeps everything securely in place while making the silhouette appear oversized.

It’s a simple idea, executed brilliantly.

The best fashion doesn’t always reinvent the wheel. Sometimes it just takes a memory almost everyone shares and turns it into an object you can’t stop looking at.

Siapa sangka, momen iseng memakai heels mama waktu kecil bisa berubah menjadi inspirasi sebuah desain fashion.

Desainer Alara Koçman bersama Solenn menciptakan heels dengan ilusi optik yang membuatnya terlihat beberapa ukuran lebih besar dari kaki pemakainya. Padahal, kaki sebenarnya berada lebih ke dalam berkat konstruksi tersembunyi yang menjaga sepatu tetap nyaman dan aman dipakai.

Dengan panjang sekitar 40 cm, ujung sepatu yang memanjang, serta ruang kosong di bagian belakang, desain ini sukses menghadirkan kesan “kebesaran” tanpa mengorbankan fungsi.

Fashion memang bukan cuma soal dipakai, tapi juga soal bercerita. Kalau menurutmu, konsep ini unik atau malah bikin bingung? 👠✨

These heels instantly reminded me of being a kid. That moment when you’d sneak into your mom’s closet, slip on heels that were way too big, barely manage to walk… and still put on your own little runway show in front of the mirror.

At first glance, they look like someone simply grabbed a pair that’s a few sizes too big. But that’s the whole trick. The longer you look, the more you start wondering what exactly feels so off.

Every detail was designed down to the millimeter. The entire shoe measures around 40 cm in length, with the pointed toe alone stretching 11 cm. There’s also an almost 3 cm gap between the heel and the end of the shoe, while your foot actually sits much deeper inside than it appears. That’s what creates the illusion of wearing heels that are several sizes too big. And no… your foot doesn’t slip out. It’s held securely in place by a hidden inner sock-like construction.

Fashion is at its best when it makes you feel something. In this case, all it took was playing with the proportions of a single pair of heels.
