back when i used to go to like 2-3 dance classes weekly! even tho it doesn’t look it, after having 2 babies back to back, my body is not the same. i still have to get used to carrying the extra weight AND feel comfortable in my body. sometimes i look at videos of myself and be like girl omg why are you walking like that 😭 but i give myself grace because im literally just not used to moving this new body yet.

i feel like im starting completely over from the beginning in dance because of this. but we gone get light on our feet again #SOON

dancing this time around and taking it a bit more seriously helps me appreciate the strength of dancers even more - yall really be doing yall thaaannggg. but it’s also helped me understand more about how models move + that walking a runway is choreo too.

ultimately, it’s helped me love and appreciate me even more too ❤️‍🔥 getting back out there, never quitting, showing down but still showing up, handling alllll the things. moms really are that ngga and that btch!!! so s/o to yall at any stage 😘😘😘

and one tip for moms to be just start doing the squats now 😩 so you can carry that weight later!!

choreo from @8countstudioschicago, my first dance homeee 🥰

Dance will ALWAYS be my first love. ❤️💃🏾

Today’s class was all about finishing my lines, being intentional with every movement, and getting as close to performance-ready as possible—and whew, it felt GOOD to be back in that space. There’s just something about dance that brings me back to myself every single time. 🥹

Thank you @8countstudioschicago for the push, the corrections, and the space to keep growing. 🫶🏾

And we’re not done! 👀
Next class: September 25th 🎉♎️
And this one is special because it’s my BIRTHDAY CLASS! 🥳💃🏾🎂

I can’t believe I let 2 1/2 years go by without dancing.

And I’m not talking about just dancing around my house (honey I do that all the time lol)…

I’m talking about taking classes with a group of like minded women who just want to have fun, learn a fun routine, challenge themselves and move their bodies.

Once upon a time dance was my life. I took classes, taught classes, danced in competitions, performed at events and even started my own dance group.

Funny how once starting a career and building a business took over, I let dance accidentally go.

No wonder I’ve been feeling like something is missing in my life. That’s because it is. And that’s dance. The thing that used to bring me so much joy.

Taking this class made me remember a love that I lost but have found again. Even though I felt a little rusty at this class (yall it’s been two years… don’t judge me lol)… I still had a good time.

Thanks @kafettidesignco for joining me! And shout out to @8countstudioschicago for hosting such a fun class 💕

Transparent moment 😩
I haven’t danced in over a year (Hence the new weight gain) due to life situations and I felt like I fell off and all my clients forgot about me. But boy was I wrong! I had some lovely ladies in the room and I felt so inspired training those ladies yesterday. I am forever grateful to be back in my heels. It feels so good to be back.

I never record myself doing my choreography and this year I said I told myself I will challenge myself to record myself doing my choreography and others! I plan to attend more classes this year and not be afraid. Here is my first video of the year😩🤩🫠 Next class in February 8th hope to see you all there 🤩🙏🏽🫶🏽
