2215 Central Ave, has been reimagined into a community of permanent shops, artist, and vendors collaborating to make an exceptional shopping experience in Midtown Memphis. The name was inspired by the old Market Central sign we found when cleaning out the attic of building.

My vision was inspired by The Black Market of Cork, Ireland. A bustling warehouse space with a winding path, filled with shopkeepers helping customers and merchandising their goods. That's what Market Central is- a marketplace with a frameshop, 1910 Frameworks owned by Sarah Crawford and a "Thoughtful Giftery", by Vanessa West- Avenue Wrapping. The market is anchored by veteran antique and furniture dealers including Intuition Interiors by Anita Tauer; RHL European Antiques, Robert Hodges; and ATA by the Roberts (the original owners of Palladio Group). My great grandfather, Edmound Ryan, owned a Antique Shop in Limerick, Ireland, so it in my blood to be a dealer myself, by M.O'Ryan. Artisans fill one isle with ART, personalized, gifts, stationary and jewelry. Our feature artist, Ron Olson, is coming back to 2215 in the exact same spot he was before. We also have an event space that will host vendors for trunk shows, demonstrations and other events.

The O'Ryan family in Memphis have a long standing history of having family run businesses and priding themselves for hard work and artistic creativity. I could not have executed this vision without my boys, William, Thomas and Eamon. They spent countless hours hauling garbage, painting walls and floors, moving furniture, installing lights, removing lights, creating reels and any other task I throw their way.

Tomorrow we open to the public at 5 pm (Saturday, May 9th) Market Central is dedicated to my parents the late Tom and Kathleen O'Ryan of Atlanta, Georgia and my great grandfather, Edmound Ryan, of Limerick Ireland.
