Blue Mondays - Did you ever paint or party at the Graffiti Hall of Fame? 🧱💊

Inside a former meatworks in Alexandria, Tony Spanos built a grassroots youth venue that became a vital part of Sydney’s street art and party scene in the 80s and 90s.

1989. The biggest dance parties on the planet aren’t in Chicago or New York, there in Sydney at the Hordern Pavilion, an acid house temple home to 10,000 people. Lead by gay and lesbian trailblazers like @jac.vidgen, a roaring beacon for party people and legends, Grace Jones, Michael Hutchence, Frankie Knuckles. This was house music history, with a sound lead by DJs like @peeweeferris @tim.ritchie.photography ,
Jackie O, @johnferris666 @scottpullenofficial
Robert Racic @onlineaholic
Paul Holden Maynard and many, many more.

Episode 01 live now.

Flashback flyer frames some sick pics by @simon_burstall from @93thebook and design work by @ed.wrld @publicfantasy.co these may bring back some memories, the rave flyer was synonymous with the culture and was your information superhighway of the day to let us ravers know what was on offer at upcoming parties…..oh the memories #rave #raveflyers #dance #techno #technomusic #danceparty #raveculture #sydneyrave #93thebook #publicfantasy #photography #design #electronicmusic #underground #subculture #vinyl #recordcollector #recordcollection #vinylrecords #daddyrichrecords

Spot me in the pics, OG raver me back in 1993, this rave party was at the Graffiti Hall of Fame in Alexandria. One of my mates and fellow De La Salle student @simon_burstall was there snapping pics and has immortalised the early 1990’s Sydney rave scene in his book @93thebook I was there living it and he has truly captured the essence in his amazing photos and I felt myself back there reliving the moment. Check it out, it is totally awesome #93thebook #rave #ravescene #sydneyrave #danceparty #techno #photographer #photo #essence #backintheday #1993 #history #memories #book
