It’s what’s inside that counts.

A look into “TEMU United States: Everything Must Go!” my work with @95gallon recently exhibited as a special project at the @uhaul_gallery art fair.

In this project, I presented new sculptures, collectibles, soft goods, politically thematic “cocktail kits”, and bumper stickers inspired by the ostentatious vulgarity of politically-imbued objects from George H.W. Bush through the current regime. Evocative of the uneasy hangover one might experience recalling a drunken misdeed from the night prior,
‘TEMU USA: Everything Must Go!’ is a sardonic reflection on my continued experience as an American voter.

Special thanks to @dan_gausman, @bradleympaintings, @jackchasee, James Sundquist, Team @uhaul_gallery, and everyone who came out to make this project truly special.

Shout out to the artists, dealers, & gallerists that backed my vision and made this year my most successful to date. 3 solos in a year nearly killed me, only possible with real heads watching my back. If you are not on this level… don’t bother setting foot in the ring.

We need a “10 crack commandments” for art dealing.

At the second edition of @split_level_fair Art Fair, 17 galleries took over Rimadesio New York’s showroom for a pop up 3-day art fair.
_
To keep the showroom pristine, all works were required to be placed on tables or shelves. Holes were strictly prohibited. The space asked for the use of bumpers, leather mats, or paper under any objects that could potentially scratch a surface.
_
This is a collection of documentation showcasing how artists and gallerists maneuvered around these rules and regulations.

Good morning from artist Sam Keller ( @sam_big_gulp )

An artist that I am in love with

For many years now I have been drawn to Sam’s work.

Engaged by the comedy and execution of Sam’s political and social commentary on America , consumption of goods/media , waste , etc.

For me the subject matter is something so heavy it seems nearly impossible to make light of.

Sam defies that logic with his execution of sculptures that embody a dynamic strength of both comedy and tragedy without being too campy.

These aren’t clown paintings of the president, he made ornate cheese gak and showed it inside of a garbage can which happens to be a serious curatorial project known as @95gallon ..The work is so poignant that a simple minded viewer like myself understood at a glance that I was looking at the White House.

I was glad to catch the closing of ‘Keller and Keller’ at @sittingroomgallery last night, sorry to have missed @uhaul_gallery / @95gallon ‘TEMU’ fever dream, not for lack of trying in the rain on Saturday. I wish that I was in TX for ‘Aftertaste’ at @marthas.atx which looked superb.

I am excited to watch Sam continue to develop his language.
