🇵🇹QUALIFIED FOR THE ISAF YOUTH WORLDS IN VILAMOURA🇵🇹

The past month has been mentally challenging for us. We started with the ONK 29er, and it was a tough event. We made too many small mistakes and didn’t get the result we were hoping for. In the strong winds on day two, our mast broke😳, which also affected our final day. After six races, we were 24 points behind the leader for the Youth Worlds selection.

We went into the United 4 with fresh motivation. The forecast showed lighter winds, and we knew we could find our flow again. On Saturday, we sailed consistently low scores and put ourselves in a good position for the final day.

Then came Sunday: the last day of the selection. We finished with three first places and a second. Over one weekend, we turned a 24-point gap into a four-point lead over second place in the Youth Worlds selection.

It still feels a little unreal. We fought hard for this, and we’re so proud of the comeback we made together.

We can not forget to mention the team! A big thank you to everyone on the team for pushing each other to improve, and to our coaches for the important role they played along the way. We are proud and honored to represent the Netherlands in Vilamoura this december. We are also really looking forward to training with the new NTT within 2 weeks. Its going to be a good preperation for the Eurocup final on our home water is Medemblik🇳🇱🇳🇱
After that: Youth Worlds🔜🔜
