“sometimes it hurt so good…”

This one has been a constant personal reminder. On the days when overthinking makes thoughts heavy enough to sit you down.

When past and present choices try to derail the drive. I’m thankful for this one.

No samples.
@9magicforever1 is one of the most talented humans I know. I played him some beats I was working on. He came up with the idea of creating a song and having me chop it up like a sample. The entire process was magic. I feel like it’s one of the reasons this song holds so much energy in it.

@ewrks_ blessed me with the amazing artwork. Without an ask, he felt the song and painted exactly how I was feeling in the music. Thankful for you gang

@renzell.wav as always on the mix. Appreciate u brotha 🤲

TRENCH returns this Halloween for its fourth installment.

This time, we’re taking over an outdoor space on the West Side of Chicago for nearly 12 hours of music, running from the afternoon into late night.

For TRENCH 004, JokeR cLUB BANG makes their Chicago debut, joining a lineup of DJs, live acts, bands, and soundsystem artists from across Chicago’s underground music community.

Across the day and into the night, the program will move through reggae, dancehall, ghetto house, global club music, live performance, and other sounds rooted in diasporic music and dance culture.

TRENCH has always been about bringing different scenes, sounds, and approaches into the same space. This one is built to be a long-form Halloween gathering that doesn’t stay in one lane.

TRENCH 004 is also a fundraiser supporting humanitarian relief efforts for people affected by the ongoing crises in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Proceeds from the event will be directed toward organizations providing support and aid to affected communities.
