This time last year I started a rap tape I dedicated myself to be 100% authentic with. What I realized was how much more difficult it was to release it and be ready for its reception—whether it be love or hate—than actually making it.

SPITEFUL was created as a redemption arc for my younger self, who fell in love with the world and all its glory without the assurance that imperfection is okay. For a while, all my passions became tainted with self consciousness, barring me from being celebrated in my own self-discovery. I grew SPITEFUL of myself and others, who found success where I felt I deserved recognition. Thankfully, I’ve grown out of that and have let my energy flow freely, so I consider this all to be the last stage in my catharsis releasing that negativity.

You really are your own biggest critic, and I’m grateful to be surrounded by my people who embrace my spirit.

Four years ago, fresh out of college, Henry and I stood at the edge of adulthood, trying to understand who we were becomg amidst job apps, grocery runs, and conformity. Trading notes between New York and Barcelona, we found life crashing like the waves, carrying what was lost, what had to be, & what could be. || This is Sandcastles, my debut single & my third collaboration with CFK, our words preserved in amber on a beat by Grammy-winning producer Stoic, now streaming everywhere.
