4 year’s ago in an elementary school gym, I told a group of freshman basketball players that they were the ones that would change the North High basketball program to a bigger level. At the time I don’t know if anyone believed me, but I believed in them. This season was unbelievable! I am so proud and grateful to have been a part of the growth of these young men. Not only were they capable of doing what they did this season, they believed in themselves and they believed in each other. So many doubted you, but you stuck to the script and proved it to yourselves that you were capable of making a run at a state championship. They slept on y’all and y’all woke them up! Although the team didn’t have the finish they had in mind. They accomplished so much and are now written in history of one of the most successful North High basketball teams. I’m saddened to see them go, but I am eternally thankful for them giving me the start of my high school career. I have worked with most of these seniors all the way back to middle school so a lot of them have had me for 4 years and beyond. I’m thankful for their parents who put their trust in me and helped me build a strong foundation that will never change. I will always be here for you guys as you take the next steps of your journey and you will always have me in your corner as you go on your path to make your choices in life. Thank you for everything! - Coach K #NORTHSIDE #LaFamilia #VsUp 🔵🟡
