overmyhead. (cover of the fray) - live on soundcloud, bandcamp, and youtube.

tryna get better at finishing demos and just making whatever i want to make, so im starting new pages to post kinda just whatever no pressure, minor projects i work on. these will act as a portfolio of sorts, stuff that isnt connected to my major work but still think is worth putting somewhere. this will mainly consist of covers, demos, instrumentals, or just little things i make. link in bio to these pages xxx

A message from Jerrie.

When I first got given this work uniform, I didn’t think much of it. I put it on, went to work and got to know the community in Bass Coast.

The more I got to work in the community, connect with young people, create events with talented creatives and truly work in the inspiration of young people- I felt the weight of these words on the back of my uniform.

The power of inspired young people is defiantly something to believe in. Inspired young people have a vision, a purpose and pure grit to want to share that with the world.

I’m finishing up my time with The Y as we hand over to Anglicare.
A career opportunity in New Zealand awaits me. As exciting as my new venture is, I’ll miss the work I’ve been doing. Working with young aspiring artists and musicians is a job I would always love to come back to.

Watch this space for future FReeZA events in bass coast.

From The Y and Jerrie,
Farewell for now- Keep creating magic!

PS- Come to our wrap up party! See recent post for details.

On Thursday Bass Coast FReeZA held a training day for our FReeZA Crew. Each band/ musician got to create their own merch!

Facilitated by @airbrushco.com.au in Cowes at @warehouse3922.

We had such a fun time bringing our logos to life on t-shirts!

(Part 4 of 5…) Grateful for all the incredible music, artists & creative projects 2024 brought to my awareness! We truly are blessed having access to so much beauty at our fingertips. 🫴✨

To share some love & also express my admiration of fantastic work from independent and/or Australian artists especially, I’ve created a playlist comprising my absolute favourite music finds of 2024 at…

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2uVkCBW6ZewKPKwu41pNje

(& alternatively via link-in-bio clickthru, for ease of access ✌️☣️⛓️)

It’s an all-genres assortment (arranged into rough genre-delineated sections as follows) by exclusively indie and/or Aussie artists: Tracks 1-26 blend of rock / folk / punk / country / singer-songwriter gold; Tracks 27+ encompass gems of electronic, hip-hop, dance & “more genre fluid” exploration. 😘💎

—-

Following on from my last few days’ instalment posts, this arvo’s segment progresses further through the electronic / hip-hop / dance / experimental-ish part of my 2024 faves playlist here featuring…

@okaydenaus “Detour into the Jungle” 🌿

@_1sharp “worth it.” ⚖️

@yunzer.o x @cryptic_crayola x @other__joe “True Love Starter Pack” 📦

@denidebana / @williewagtailrecords “Feel” 🫳

@the_blowfisch_saxophone / @blowsaxrecords “Traveling in Tones of Grey” 🌫️

@amaru_tribe “Somos Oro” ☀️

@aliussounds x @sofiavivere x @jpottermixes / @jaydenmcgrath_ / @umbrellasoundstudios “Shatter You” 🪞

@aliceivymusic “All In My Head (feat. Elohim)” 🧠

@itsamortentia “December” 🗓️

@dan_svagers “Summer Rain” 🌦️

@thebillowsburnbright x @_willebrant “Transit” 🛣️

Sevish “Orbital” 💫

…All bracketed of course by heaps more fantastic electronic / dance / hip-hop / exploratory tunes, as well as rock / folk / punk / country / singer-songwriter ace-ness back at the playlist’s start! Hopefully you’ll find fresh music in there that you dig, as I reckon it really has got something for almost everyone.✌️💝

Wishing you each joy, growth & prosperity into 2025+,
Gen xoxo

Happy weekend, friends! Refreshed my playblock of monthly picks in the “Melbourne Electronica” playlist this morning. 🎊 ICYMI this playlist is an ongoing collaborative effort w/ myself (@genevieve.sovereign ✌️😄), @melbournemusicians and @okaydenaus (both of whom have a different updating regimen from mine, so be sure to keep an eye out for their separate additions also!) to spotlight standout electronic-y tunes in varying flavours from Melbourne-ish based artists / projects per... 📍🎶✅

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Uq1X65HxFr4pCQATeQHJF
(and/or via my biolink for clickthru nav ☣️🔗)

My October-pick playblock update today includes:

@okaydenaus “Creatures” (fresh-out t’other day, new upbeat EDM vibe from my ace-as co-curator on this playlist 🤟😎)

@_1sharp “worth it.” (hyperpop treat w/ trippy beat I’m totally digging ✨)

@thesafetyword “Angels - Drum & Bass Remix” (synthpop-dance making philosophical enquiries 🤔)

@divinewavemusic “Inderluft” (dreamy tech-house instrumental heading skyward 🌫️)

@cardamusic “I Should've Said” (electropop sweetness w/ lovely vocals 🫶)

@dj_pgz “Quality High” (acid-house beat to get things bumping ✅)

@telenovaofficial “Discothèque Inside My Head - Telenoir Version” (altpop trip-hop gem suggested to me by the ever-exceptionally-tasteful @ventrymusic thx mate! 🪩)

@thebillowsburnbright x @_willebrant “Transit” (immersive folktronica soundscape to lose oneself in 🏞️)

@tinikapas “TURN IT UP!” (irresistible beat + overall arrangement that demand moving-to 💃)

@neaon.neaon x @warlock.music.82 “Fire - Warlock Remix” (undulating synthwave w/ delicate dreamy vocals 🔥)

+ the typical bonus chaser at slot 11 of my own newest release, “Square Root -1” (incidentally my first fully spoken-word experimental electronic single)... Y’know, for ease of access in case anyone’s curious. ✌️😘

Hope y’all enjoy spinning this latest “Melbourne Electronica” October playblock update as much as I’ve enjoyed assembling it! 💖

Love always&forever,
Gen xoxo

P. S. I love receiving suggestions & discovering great new tunes! If there are any Melbourne-ish based artists or projects you’d like to recommend, please do let me know. ✍️🤓
