Woke up 4:30am. Couldn’t sleep, so decided to make use of my time. It was a brisk cold 40degree walk towards the end. Finished workout walking with the sunrise and my @_2xsr sandbag for grip work. Love this weather 🥶 #gripwork #movementdrills #cardio #bjjgrip

V1 to V2. Here’s what happened in between.

I cut the vest apart and that’s where the real work started.

Three things drove every cut I made.

First, anything that looked good but didn’t actually serve the customer came off. V1 had material in places that added bulk without adding value. Gone.

Second, cost of goods is real. Every extra panel and layer hits your margin. Trimming the unnecessary fabric wasn’t just cleaner design, it made the product viable to scale.

Third, the environment. Less waste in production, a vest that folds flat instead of shipping bulky, and smaller packaging that’s easier to move from factory to door. Leaner product, smaller footprint.

V2 is what happens when you stop being precious about your first version and start being honest about what it actually needs to be.

This is the process. And it’s exactly what I help founders go through at XL Ovation.

Sunday, rest day, but keep moving everyday. Enjoying my favorite weight vest @_2xsr & meal to break-fast.

Solid movement today.

41.30 km at 5.3km/hr, put us in Listowel by 1730.

Covered 250m of elevation, essentially a constant shallow incline (more to come tomorrow) but overall a solid day.

Still time to donate, links on our Instagram bio, appreciate ALL the support.

Please help us end veteran homelessness.

Finished week 4 workout with more of my Fave rope, the Muay Thai 3.0 1.5 lb. weighted rope by Elite Jumps. This time I added the 2xsr weighted vest. I have it set at 20 lbs.

Notice the vest did not bounce around. It's a comfortable snug fit. Perfect to add a little more challenge to your workouts. 2xsr has a NEW Upgraded model they are releasing later this Fall. Stay tuned to 2xsr.com for the release date. I've seen it, it's going to be Niiice!! 👊🏻

Ps. Ignore my jumping skills, I'm still in the VERY BEGINNER stage 🤪

This was a TOUGH one. I used the Pull Harness from 2xsr.com with the "heavy" TRX resistance bands, to really challenge my stability & balance. First was powersnatch/squat/press with the 40 lb. Drag Bag from 2xsr.com and second was power slams with the 13 lb. Suples Ball from suples.com.

This 2xsr Pull Harnes adds so much more versatility to many workouts. I happen to have a large stock at Roundkick Gym in Urbandale. If you are local to Central Iowa and want to add more challenge & versatility to your workouts, you can get your Pull Harness w/Drag Strap at 2xsr.com. Select "pick up" at shipping, and stop by the gym to pick up yours 👊🏻

Week 3 of jumping! I now have 3 weighted ropes from Elitejumpsco ... the 1 lb, 1.5 lb, and 3 lb. I'm focused on just jumping workouts now. Tricks/dance steps will come later. The 3 lb "Beast" is no joke! Adding that with the 2xsr 40 lb sandbag was a Killer round! All fueled by Oh!mino 💪🏻👊🏻

Sunday morning walk, with the @_2xsr weight vest. It looks cool, is cool, comfortable, and adds some extra (25lbs) fitness to my walk. And holds my phone.

Over the past several years, I filed and fought for two full patent portfolios almost entirely on my own. I found the white space, wrote the claims, survived the rejections, enforced against infringing sellers, and closed real licensing deals.

This book is everything I learned putting that right to use.

Swipe to see what is inside.

Book 2 of the Inventor’s Playbook Series: The Solo Inventor Patent Success System. Now available on Amazon. Link in bio.

Grab a copy, and if you want help applying any of this to your own invention, send me a message. That is what the consulting side of my work is for.

Note: I am not a licensed patent attorney or registered patent agent. This book and all content I share is based entirely on my own personal experience as a pro se inventor. Nothing here constitutes legal advice. For your specific situation, always consult a registered patent professional.

Happy 7th Anniversary to Hook & Cross Fitness .

What started off as a thought during a Simon Sinek lecture on finding my “Why” has turned into a 6 figure business, with 3 associate trainers, 3 affiliate partners, having trained over 100 people for general fitness, dozens of amateur and Olympics hopefuls in boxing/kickboxing, and boasting an unbeaten record in S&C training for professional fighters including world champions, international champions, and pro debuts.

Today I’m humbled and incredibly proud of what we’ve built but even more excited for what is about to come in the next few years let alone 7! 🥳 🎉 🥂
