Designing this scarf allowed me to bridge a gap between different backgrounds that share similar cultural experiences.

I feel responsible to educate those who are receptive & uplift those who are overlooked, underserved & or misrepresented. My direct roots to the African diaspora are the tools and resource I pull from to exhibit that we are here, we do exist & yes, black people speak Spanish too.

“Can we still fall in Love this summer?”

💭I’ve been patient with myself to make this post… if these words inspired hope, courage, and the concept of Love during a tough time 4 years ago… it’s taken all of me to nourish this feeling again through growth… it’s been an emotional last few days I’m really just grateful because the journey in life has not been easy, but I knew it would be worth it, worth fighting for, worth evolving, worth believing I could get to this point where I can live these words and know I am more alive than ever. This feeling, the strength, that hope you all feel that makes you stop and the depth it hits is so real because this is genuinely me.. I’ve felt words since I was a kid… they were all I had… never knew this tool I used to survive would play such an important role for so many of you to not feel alone either.

🤍We’re 1 week away from my opening night to my first exhibit…can’t tell you how excited I am to show up for myself, to enjoy and celebrate all the sacrifices, share all the faith I’ve had in myself… express what this piece has brought me… and the way I’ve chosen to honor this space I created has so much intention, the meaning behind this is so deep and raw only a few know what I actually mean which is why you’ve had my back, thank you for respecting my story, and being genuine friends… sharing my heart, my mind, and most of all my soul with you on June 7th.

Can’t express how much all your thoughts, and words mean to me… I feel them so thoroughly, I understand so much about this world that was always unspoken… that was always hidden, misunderstood due to lack of capacities, my awareness of this world has always been too real and rich… despite feeling that loneliness I believed in this peace I now live… all I can say is I’ve never given up on any aspect of my life including my heart and mental freedom… this space I created has saved my life, and it is an absolute honor to see it serving so many of you through your own stories, moments, and challenges. Thank you for being as vulnerable and open as I am…looking forward to meeting you next week🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀

“You won’t find me the way you left me”

💭picked up my roses yesterday every Sunday… but I woke up needing the extra dozen today… I’m gifting myself all the roses I deserve while I’m alive. Didn’t realize how deeply this piece would hit for all of you who have come across it… I genuinely continue to write for my self expression… the need to articulate has been a part of me since I was a kid.

🤍Your feelings and connection to these pieces I’ve written for myself I will always treasure… I genuinely understand… the best thing you can do is work on your self… this piece is a testament to that dedication I have… the come up has been real this year and nothing and no one will ever find me the way they’ve left me.

🖼️ For those who have been messaging about opening night to my exhibit on June 7th… this is open to general public, no rsvp required. Ecstatic is an understatement… everything I have been painting these last 2 months has been so therapeutic.

Appreciate all the goodies I’ve been given this last week thank you to @jessicarlane for the @rovebrand - grateful for all the love and gestures.
