Rehearsal dinner of our dreams. We wanted every moment of our wedding weekend to feel like an extension of us, and having an excellent meal with excellent wine, with all of our closest family friends, in a beautiful, intimate space overlooking the fall leaves… doesn’t get more M&M.

Last day of Summer.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what this season gave me.

The last few years of my life have held so much shedding. Letting go, getting quieter, questioning, unlearning, turning inward. And this summer felt different.

It felt like I started filling some of that space again.

With creativity. Friendship. Devotion. Travel. Learning. Beauty. Writing. My work. The people I love. More trust in myself. More willingness to be seen. More of the things that make me feel alive.

There was still so much unfolding underneath it all, but I think I’m learning that becoming more myself doesn’t always have to happen through letting go.

Sometimes it happens through noticing what I want to move toward.

What I want more of.
What feels like mine.
What makes my life feel like my life.

This summer felt like that.

Enjoying being while becoming.

For somewhere with everything pretty close knit, two days in P.E.C was nowhere near enough! 🇨🇦

A couple of our pitstops involved food and drink, and everywhere was a highlight. We went on weekdays so unfortunately lots of places on our list weren’t open — that just means another trip is in the future, right? 👀

well gosh,

I hope you all go on a lovely, spontaneous date to the Lakeview Diner at midnight with a nice French-Swiss chef once upon a time, but then you catch a flight to Ireland for a holiday with your friends the very next day and when you come home 10 days later, you realize you need to move abroad to get some things out of your system and the French-Swiss chef says he’s devastated* but he understands that you can’t keep seeing him and then you move away two months later and have an invigorating life elsewhere, on opposite sides of the world, and then you come back almost three years later from that very first date, after experiencing an elsewhere, now rebuilt and healed, and you remember how nice that French-Swiss chef you once almost dated was.

And then you have your third date, a couple years late, but nicer than ever.

*unconfirmed if that’s the word he’d use, but pretty confident
