Our seventh edition also marked one year of Reading Room. A small milestone that makes us really happy, excited for the future, and yes, a little proud. We’ve poured so much heart into building this community—seeing you choose this space to slow down, feel held, and open your pages with us means more than we can say.

Since everything began at Oona Bar at @refugeworldwide last November, coming together again in their new community space @refugeworldwide.space felt beautifully full-circle. The room offered all kinds of little corners to settle into, cosy nooks, big cushions on the floor or spots by the radio booth. Some people felt so at ease they even drifted into a nap, just listening to the sweet tunes from @itsbella. And when I noticed our DJ, and even the bar staff, quietly picking up their own books, it really summed up the feeling of the night perfectly.

Every edition has its own character, shaped by the space, the moment, and most of all by who shows up. But this one felt especially warm and communal. The room was completely filled with people and books, a whole patchwork of readers spread across the floor. And the moment when the silent hour ended was magical again: the soft first whispers, brief exchanges about freshly written lines, and then that gentle rise into chatting and laughter. The shift from just hearing turning pages, some drinks being sipped and soft music to the buzz of connection was really something.

We’re so thankful for every single one of you who joins Reading Room. For trusting the idea of sitting with strangers who somehow feel familiar afterward, or for showing up with friends and still claiming a quiet moment for yourselves.
Thank you @refugeworldwide, and especially @nooo.plastic, for believing in our vision and opening your space for us once more. Thank you @itsbella for filling the room with such tender sound. And thank you @ocean_everling and @teresakrescentia—creating this together over the last year is nothing but a bliss. Looking forward to 2026 and our next edition 📖✨

#LastNowNext (thanks for tagging me beauty @jessicas_bookstack)

> Last: Feeling, Ryoko Sekiguchi. Book all about champagne. Champagne and food pairings, human + nature relationships, the senses and a lot about grapes.

> Now: 3 books at once. Help me.

The Summer Without Men, Siri Hustvedt. I am absolutely loving this. The tone is just right for me.

Funny Weather: Art in an Emergency, Olivia Laing. Essays on art and it’s importance. Lots of inspiration and I’ve never dog eared a book more.

Higher Ground, Anke Stelling. (for @an__otherbook book club) Not going to lie, I am having a hard time with this one. Interesting themes and I’m always down for translated fiction. Something isn’t quite right for me with this one … our narrator is upset.

> Next: Idaho, Emily Ruskovich. Started reading a bit of this the other day and really got sucked in…so I am setting it aside until I finish my current reads. Might take this one to Greece with me next week!

I am really such a mood reader so let’s see if any of these truly hold up.
