Studio studio studio… all the shit ya don’t see is the early mornings getting up with my kids and taken em to school, and cutting out of my studio everyday by 2:30 to pick em up, the late nights of homework chores and dinner, the self conversations around what am I even doing with my life. This is it. No blue print. Just one foot in front of the next. The betting on myself even when it feels scary. The delusion it takes. The rejection it takes. You know how many people I’ve reached out to and been laughed at. Ya know how many doors I’ve knocked on that didn’t ever get answered. I think I just look stupid sometimes 🦩 Saying shit like I wanna work with @pharrell 🤡🤡🤡… the jump I took getting this studio knowing damn well it gets paid with paintings… the pressure and the way I’ve learned to dance with it all. I love this shit. I’m planning to have a premier of my first cartoon and my first studio party soon. Stay tuned. Shits gettin gooey 🥣🐬🍬🎪👹

UPDATE: THIS EVENT IS NOW MOVED TO THURSDAY OCT 15 FROM 5-8PM AT SABAH HOUSE NEW YORK🚨

Earlier this year, we were introduced to the work of @___solem and were particularly captivated by her Deep Blue ceramic series.

Solem is the project of Tamara Alissa, a Toronto-based ceramicist whose hand-built works bring together sculptural forms, rich color, and a reverence for traditional pottery. There’s something wonderfully familiar yet unexpected about her pieces - which made us curious to see how she might reimagine a pair of Sabahs.

Now, we get to share the result.

Tamara will be joining us in NYC to celebrate the arrival of her handmade ceramic Sabah sculptures and the launch of her new Deep Blue series. Join us Tuesday evening at Sabah House New York, 5–8pm, for drinks, light bites, and a chance to meet Tamara and experience some of the most unusual “Sabahs” we’ve ever had in store, presented alongside her deep blue works.

See y’all then! #howwesabah #wheretonext
