I read @yolojournal religiously. I used pick up the fresh print issue every month at @iconicmagazines. So, to be a contributor for their “Portland Black Book” honestly feels a bit surreal!

I’m always ready to rattle off Portland recs but this one was extra special, since a lot of the places are owned by people I’ve met/become pals with since unexpectedly moving back. What a wild, full circle thing.

My girlfriends keep saying there’s nowhere to shop for clothes in Portland and every time I hear it my eye twitches.

I took Latecia to her first match and watching her experience it all—the energy, the traditions, the crowd, the celebration of Meghan Klingenberg and a very dramatic finish—reminded me how much of match day happens beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch.
