It may be hot outside, but it is cool inside THE STACKS BOOKSTORE.

And it is even cooler (in my humble opinion) now that they stock some of my poetry books!

Today I had a nice visit with bookseller Juliet and signed the copies that they had in stock. And, of course, I never escape a bookstore without buying something.

They have a lot of book clubs, excellent reading recommendations, and writer support activities. If you are not already a regular, check them out.

Cecilia & Jet met at the Dyke Book Club. They created Quiver! to open an opportunity for local lesbian artists and writers to showcase their work and to create a physical record of dyke life in Savannah.

Juliet “Jet” (she/they) is a writer from the Hudson Valley who has found a home in Savannah these past ten years. She is a member of the Dyke Nights board, hosts Savannah’s Dyke Book Club and Dyke Mic, and manages The Stacks Bookstore.

Cecilia (she/her) is a public historian and museum educator living in Savannah. You can find her exploring local museums, climbing with @savannah_climbing_community, and of course at Dyke Nights and Dyke Book Club.

Great evening last night at the POETRY CO-OP OPEN MIC. We had quite a crowd at the WATER WITCH TIKI BAR, and a lot of new faces and first time readers at our open mic.

We were glad to have our co-host Mia back, after her disrupting moving adventures

By my count, we had 17 poets read (may be a record!), and the variety and talent were outstanding.

Here is my list of the poets, in alphabetical order as usual. If I missed anyone, let me know: Alfred, Amy, Anthony, Beau, Carri, Claire, Claribel, Courtenay, Darriea, Drew, Eli, Kay, Marc, Mia, Taylor, Trinity, and Victoria.

Thanks to Anthony for taking the picture, and thanks as always to Water Witch and our favorite bartender, Laine.

Just a reminder to new readers - let me know your tag, and I will tag you in the post.

Great night last night at the Poetry Co-Op Open Mic at the Water Witch Tiki Bar. A lot of poets and a big audience made a lot of happy noise.

Poets in alphabetical order: Anthony, Ari, Beau, Claire, Darriea, Jimmy, Juliet, Kristin, Kyle, Lila, Megan, Mia, and Trinity.

Kristin from Davenport House brought us an exciting opportunity to have a poetry event in their new event space. More to come.

We will miss Kyle as he goes off on another adventure.

And finally, the beautiful weather yesterday brought out my newest fancy shirt - but I was careful and wore two warm layers under it.
