Short answer: Yes.

A Schengen visa generally allows you to enter through any Schengen country, regardless of which country issued the visa.

However, there’s an important caveat.

When you applied, you submitted a travel plan showing:
✅ your main destination
✅ your itinerary
✅ where you intended to spend the most time

That’s one of the reasons the embassy approved your application.

So while entering through France instead of Spain isn’t automatically a problem, border officers may ask questions if your actual travel plans appear significantly different from what was presented in your application.

🚩 In rare cases, if they believe you obtained your visa through a country that wasn’t genuinely your main destination, additional scrutiny can occur.

For future applications, immigration authorities may also review your previous travel patterns and visa usage history.

✅ Best Practice:
• Enter through the country that issued your visa where possible
• If your plans change, keep evidence of the reason (flight costs, schedule changes, travel logistics, etc.)
• Make sure you still visit the issuing country during your trip
• Keep records of your bookings and itinerary

The goal isn’t just getting the visa. It’s using it consistently with the purpose for which it was granted.

💬 Have you ever entered the Schengen Area through a different country from the one that issued your visa?

Working on projects of this scale expands your horizon.. creatively, mentally, and even personally.

Grateful to @asaasika for the trust and collaboration on Davido’s 5ive Tour NG.

Special shout out to @iamawopetu for managing this exceptionally, @anu.abati for stellar design support, and @tola_greene & @adaobi_a for holding it down always.

The team at @metacraftdesign and I gave this our all, and it’s an experience that’ll stay with us for a long time.

One for the books.

Association.

You rarely have control over alot of things in life but one thing you have absolute control over is your association.

Several cultures have adage that depicts the wisdom behind the power of association. Even the Holy Bible starts off that verse with 'Be not deceieved'. This is important because of the self imposed delusion we often give ourselves that we can associate with people who are the opposite of who we want to be and still end up as we want. While this maybe true sometimes, certainly not all the times and it is always better to err on the side of safety.

At the law school, I had an incredible study group consisting of Dolapo Modupe Akinola, Eseosa Uwagboe, Precious Owoeye, Abdullah Abdussalam, Praise A., FAVOUR Elemide, and I. The goal was simple, red scroll or nothing. We worked our eyes out towards it. By the time externship was over we were all finishing the curriculum the 3rd time- the entire curriculum. Wild right, yes!

It didn't end there, past questions and MCQ of at least 10years were crunched in bits and digested by all of us. The reading room in Hostel 2 of Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus was tired of us. When the reading room was crowded, we read on stairways, corridors, anywhere that does the job, actually. By the time of the exam, it was never a conversation of whether we will pass or not but what grade we intend to finish with.

At the end, all of these paid off. Red scrolls and award winners left and right from the same campus and from the same study group. Everyone made it. This is a testament of the power of association.

Choose wisely.
