उच्चांगीदुर्ग (Uchangidurga) ला भेट दिल्यावर हीच गोष्ट प्रकर्षाने जाणवते. डोंगरावर असलेल्या गडावर पाण्याचे नैसर्गिक साठे/टाके आहेत, ज्यांनी शतकानुशतके या गडाला जिवंत ठेवले. तर पायथ्याशी असलेल्या गावातली देखणी बारव (Stepwell) म्हणजे आपल्या पूर्वजांच्या जलव्यवस्थापनाचा उत्तम नमुना!
