Open Call: Archives of Circular Summer

Poem and Photo by me :) and my reflection of how I felt this time last summer 2025 vs summer 2026.

——

Summer “Night Flights”

Just as birds know
where to fly
at the end of summer
to survive
the coldness of winter.

So did my heart
know where to go
from the pain of heartbreak.

Whatever currents or rough waters have nudged me on this path, I’m glad it has pushed amongst these shores. 🥰

08.12.26 — It’s a lot harder as an adult to have spontaneous unplanned life events happen to you. And sometimes, being invited to a bike ride that unravels into a basketball game then watching people do bike tricks then celebrating a birthday then having home made ube cake then playing a basketball game called knockout all in a span of a few hours.

Not sure if I’m the only one to experience this…but cheers to unplanned unraveling of events. And Happy Birthday!🎉

08.12.26 — A few Safariii Camp members doing tricks.

08.12.26 — Birthday celebration and a few Safariii Camp residents in line for food.

08.12.26 — For someone like me who’s more comfortable being a fly on the wall. It’s nice watching different people from Safariii Camp talk to each other and allowing me to move around from one group to another.

08.12.26 — Playing a game of knock out! It felt like being a kid again. @safarihaidari and @amalalyousfii came at the end and it was nice to see them 🥰

08.12.26 — @mushdafaiez being Mushda 😌

08.12.26 — Grateful for spontaneous events. It made me feel like a kid again where you’d just stay out and all your different friend groups would just pull up. 🥹

We flew a team to the base of Aconcagua by helicopter. None of them had stood much higher than 20,000 ft before.

What followed was 11 days of full-on high-altitude climbing and some of the most honest conversations we've ever had on a mountain.

Episode 1 drops tomorrow, following the team from steak dinners in Mendoza all the way up to Camp 2 as the mountain starts to get serious.

Episode 2 is the summit push. But first, meet the people trying to get there.

Link in bio tomorrow. 🏔

in 2025, we started making our first batches of poetry cameras and getting them into the hands of our early customers. thank you for dreaming with us.

- @claudeai featured poetry cameras at many of their events, and a billboard and a commercial (!)
- @monument_lab used the cameras at workshops at the smithsonian @americanart museum, to help museum visitors see art in a new light
- @susankare brought it to the moma abecedarium, and drew a poetry camera icon that we turned into a pin for all our customers… full story to come
- we spoke at @figma config 2025 about the all-too-human side of making something new with AI. thank you to everyone who said it was your favorite talk!
- we locked in at @svaixd to deliver a bunch of camera preorders for the holidays… with a LOT of help from our friends
