Being part of the #BoF500 class is an incredible honor, and I am deeply humbled by what this recognition represents not only for me, but for my journey through media and publishing, and the opportunity to represent Kuwait, the GCC, and our region on a global stage. 🇰🇼

Throughout my career, my purpose has always been to tell our stories, celebrate our talent, champion our creativity, and show the world what this region has to offer.

Very fortunate by the incredible love and support I have received from all over the world . The calls, messages, congratulations, posts, and beautiful words have truly overwhelmed me. If I haven’t been able to personally thank everyone❤️

To my dream team and my amazing team this recognition is for you. ❤️ Your dedication, loyalty, passion, and belief in me have made this journey possible. This moment belongs to all of us.

Its a responsibility and an opportunity to support talents on our region, open doors, and continue representing our country and region with pride. 🇰🇼

A special Thank you to Sharifa Alghanim, founder and designer of @hamsakwt, for dressing me for this incredibly special moment. Thank you for your creativity and efforts.

Finally to @bof and my dear friend @imranamed thank you for always being there, for your constant support, encouragement.

Forever grateful. Forever proud. 🇰🇼🤍

I love Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing visible cracks in pottery with gold transforming cracks to that of beauty and value. Time and history of the piece gives it character. The repairs of the cracks are meant to be visible and do not warrant disposal, but rather garner appreciation and value.

So is it with women, my friends. The stories of our struggles, the broken pieces, the reinvention of who we are without needing to hide or change a thing about ourselves. It is not about looking ageless or “perfect” by the world’s standards, but about finding greater value in what already exists. We need to know our value and celebrate the victories we won and the battles that we lost that built strength and character.

Our beauty comes from purpose, experiences, hardships and the adapting and rebuilding of our lives. We don’t need to cover up the challenges we have faced, rather wear them as medals unapologetically like the visible cracks of Kintsugi.

Feelings can feel so real at times, but they aren’t the truth and while emotions deserve expression they don’t deserve centre stage.

The brain is programmed to protect albeit it can protect in some pretty unconventional ways. Thankfully we have a mind which can reason, regulate and choose for the most part not to allow emotions to overwhelm us in our daily lives.

Making long term and vital decisions impulsively based on temporary feelings is never a great idea and not highly recommended. That’s a sure recipe for disaster and I can attest to that having foolishly burnt far too many bridges in my life, but now that I am older and wiser…

Seriously though just because you feel a certain way doesn’t mean it’s the truth.
Just pause at some point and question your emotions. Why do I feel like this? Is this really true? Why does this always trigger me?

It’s wonderful that we are capable of feeling emotions. Emotions add colour and depth to being human and is at the core of the greatest art ever created, but the vital distinction is not to become enslaved by emotions making them our master.
