🌊Student Highlight🌊:

Abby Malloy is a second-year graduate student in the concurrent program, Masters of Science in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Masters of Public Administration. She is also the first student to partake in our accelerated program, which allows undergraduate seniors to take courses at the graduate level towards the program. Abby applied to this program because it allowed her to dive deeper into her passion for environmental sustainability earlier in her educational career. She obtained her B.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Studies from the College in May of 2026, and had also completed her full first year in the graduate program. She currently works as the Graduate Assistant for Student Programming at the Center for Sustainable Development. Her research focuses on the motivational factors driving engagement in citizen science related to coastal urban flooding.

So excited for Abby on this journey!! Huge congrats!

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” - Winnie the Pooh 🍯🎓

From the end of August starting at a whole new school to the beginning of May about to walk across the Cistern…

I never could have imagined the passions I found, the adventures I experienced, and the people I have loved.

To my friends and sisters, thank you for being unapologetically yourselves and giving me a space to do the same. We have had so much fun, laughing until 2am, game nights, beach days, study sessions, and the simple moments of talking about everything under the sun.

To the communities I have been apart of, you have pushed me to better myself as a professional and as an individual. I can confidently say I not only have been able to leave College of Charleston a better person but also have left College of Charleston as a better place. This would not be possible without amazing mentors, professors, and colleagues who care so much.

To my family, you gave me the opportunity to experience a new familiarity away from home. I was able to explore different countries and meet so many different people. You always reminded me every step of the way how proud I made you, and I am happy to say it felt as though your contributions were worth while.

Thank you College of Charleston for the last 4 years, I promise this won’t be the last of me ;)
