Nice, France:
View from the old town through the arches towards the Promenade.

Fun fact: the palm trees weren’t always there. They replaced native orange and olive trees in the 19th century to please wealthy tourists. 🌴✨

We share photos about Europe: Its places, people, crafts, art, and culture. It’s time we celebrate the beauty and diversity of this incredible continent and its people more often. 💫

NEIGHBOURHOOD PORTRAITS

CAP DE NICE, a jewel nestled between the port and Villefranche-sur-Mer, offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean and boasts an exceptional natural setting, with sheer cliffs and lush vegetation.

Historically, the Cap de Nice has always been a favoured location for the elite, attracting aristocrats, artists and celebrities over the centuries in search of tranquillity and beauty. In the 19th century, with the arrival of the railway and the craze for the French Riviera, sumptuous Belle Époque villas were built, reinforcing the exclusive character of the area.

Nowadays, Cap de Nice remains one of the most sought-after areas on the Côte d’Azur, appreciated for its calm, discreet luxury and proximity to the city centre, while offering a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
