🎥 Talk To You

Talk To You is an experimental documentary short based on a series of voicemails I discovered from my late grandfather, Gerald Grant, years after his death. Papa Gerry – as he coined himself – was both an omnipresent figure in my young life through his consistent calls and voicemails, and an absentee grandfather who lived alone in Orlando and rarely saw his family in person. Exploring the tension of childhood nostalgia and adult regret, the film guides viewers through a recreation of my grandfather's Orlando home through a cautious and unfamiliar lens. Filmed in March pre-COVID and shot in one practical four-minute take, "Talk To You" invites the audience to consider their own family relationships and how the feelings behind those relationships change with time, age and death.

So many things to say about @chi_therealist but when his new album is playing you can’t help but be inspired.
“Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself”, Chi is a realist and an icon from Chicago, Rochester and Deep Space and he is starring in @citythemovie which was the best feature experience I’ve ever had with creatives and talent everywhere. They are ripping thru the digital film circuit so don’t miss it! Dir: @acquinnstagram DoP: @mister_rom

Love is Now, Love is Past, Love is Forever. Episode 1 of MTV’s Wrong Distance Relationship premieres on Snapchat today! (Link in bio). Spent a wonderful winter DPing this series with my best friends and film family as we learned what love takes and what it doesn’t take. =====================
Many 💘💘and thanks to producers @hoffprodinc @dnesta @marisa_bip @miquelenyc and the crew whom I all liked at the start but loved by the end. Spoiler alert: our relationship is the Right Distance. We shot with #varicam which was ideal for the quick changes and moodier locations. Was nice to have the home field advantage for once and we tried our best to make this a love letter to NYC; for those of you on the phones with your loved ones, interrupted after the first few promising dates, or looking for love as we come out of quarantine; fit, rested, and hawt, there are definitely a few important series lessons throughout the fun. =====================
Michael Kiwanuka sang it best in his album Home Again. “You never leave me
You'll always be part of the person I'll become
And I'll never leave you
You give me memories that I know could never leave.
On my knees, all on my own
Can't seem to get there all alone
So come, hear me brother, I won't lie!” #cinematographer #mtv #love #performers #poc #directorofphotography @cinemavaricam

Gratitude makes anything too small big enough and anything too big attainable. Privileged to DP with such a talented affable crew on this forthcoming MTV series. Was a pleasure to have the home field advantage for once and shoot with our kit and comrades. We picked up D1 with a busted window but no gear and no hearts broken. Many praises for the indomitable producers and always love for our timeless EPs @hoffprodinc #cinematographer #dp #varicam #mtv #directorofphotography
