Year 3.

Another chapter starts..

Thank you to our family, friends, and all of you who have become part of our story.

We started Afrobeat Kitchen to be a movement, a way to push the culture forward and feed the joy, efforts, and growth of our community.

We are grateful for how many doors opened to us when we opened our doors, how you have brought us to help create your spaces as much as you have made your mark on our walls, and for sharing our kitchen party with the people you love

Our highlights are your highlights truly.

This year, we celebrated:
- 2 dope albums from the phenomenal @shadkmusic and freshest in the East @sincerelytobi
- 2 books out from the talented @jibolastudios (with the most epic launch by @chinedesign) and the iconic Ozoz Sokoh @kitchenbutterfly at @adfrntbooklist
- 3 museum collaborations with @visitpama Harriet Tubman Institute and @tohistorymuseums
- 2 seasons of our Supperclub series with @eatfamous
- goodbye to a history making run by @masaiujiri at the @raptors
- a world premiere by @obsidiantheatre @soulpeppertheatre
- features in @foodandwine @foodismto
- @tastetoronto @ivyporkchopknight and @_amax making things about us
- Afrobeats cooking everywhere by our faves @djrevy_b @stillfeelingfancy @sudaanyaa @djism @samplechief
- adding meat pies all the time on our menu
- @esiemensah and @keepgrowingq doing too many incredible things to keep up with but also esies epic birthday performance
- a lot of your birthdays, awards, reunions, farewell parties, opening nights, content creation, baby showers, and any reason you had for getting tasty
- and the thing that kinda matters to us most: approval from the aunties! passing another annual inspection bestowed on us by Nigerian national treasure Aunty Iquo @1qfoodplatter

Our Movie Evening and Info-session on Saturday the 21st of June was a hit!!!

With engaging sessions, a movie with popcorn service, and our vibrant mini vendors village, we were happy to host members of our community while introducing our upcoming “Music Meets Animation” training initiative in collaboration with @magiclabacademy!

We thank everyone who attended the event, and our vendors who made it more wholesome.

And if you missed this world of fun, don’t fret. See you at our next event!

🟥 AFTER 30 is STILL STREAMING GLOBALLY ON PRIME VIDEO 🟥

Thankful to my family and friends for all the love and support I’ve received in the last month.

Loved this day and I’ll never forget it ❤️

Against all odds, After 30 stayed at number 1 for over 2 weeks and is still in the TOP 3 after 26 days. Before 30 is still in the Top 10 40+ days after it dropped on Prime Video.

If you still haven’t watched it, I admire your restraint but please now. Must I beg??? 🥹

❗️We did it. 4 episodes. 1 full-length story. And a whole lot of girlfriend bonding❗️

This month, our host @_amax_ put her media hat back on mid-life-transition and mid CWA Season 3 break.

Because sometimes, you don’t wait for perfect. You just show up 😤

She claims the After 30 interview series was personal. It was real. And now it’s complete.

The full interview with @momo_spaine is now on YouTube — for those who want the whole story in one sitting.

To the women evolving through every version of themselves: this one’s for you.

Happy New June 🥹

We pressed record so the world could hear what we’ve been saying in our living rooms.

PART 1 | ✨Conversations With Amaka x Momo Spaine✨
A Special Series Presented by TW Magazine

This is a special edition of Conversations With Amaka — and it features @momo_spaine who turned years of dreaming into a bold, beautiful debut.

I sit with my dear friend and creative force Momo Spaine — producer of Before 30, and now the director of After 30 — streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.

In this 4-part series, we unpack:

• The years of dreaming that led here
• The obsessive attention to every detail
• The anxiety that comes with releasing your truth
• What it takes to direct your first feature while staying true to your vision

This isn’t just an interview.
It’s a love letter to growth, grit, and the power of storytelling.

Part 1 is now live here on instagram.

New episodes drop May 14, 17, and 21 on @twmagazineng and @_amax_
