HOMMEGIRLS VOLUME 16 STARRING LILY-ROSE DEPP 🌹 There is a delightful nonchalance to @lilyrose_depp. She’s at ease without ever being careless, and so beautifully mannered that describing her can make her sound more formal than she actually is. In person, she is warm, funny, and wonderfully unguarded. In Robert Eggers’s Werwulf, set in 13th-century England, she plays a woman with no name – a farmer, wife, and mother whose existence is organized by the body, the earth, and the relentless labor of survival. In the Zellner brothers’ Alpha Gang, she plays an alien who arrives on Earth only to encounter human emotion and discover that feeling may be a kind of contagion. So, while one character is bound to the most physical facts of her humanity, the other has only just arrived inside them. Both roles ask the questions Lily-Rose brings naturally into conversation: What makes us human? What do our bodies know before we do? And how, once we find ourselves here, do we learn to belong? Thank you to everyone who took part in Retail Theatre. To celebrate the opening of our Los Angeles store we created a theatrical fitting room connected to the street through two live cameras. What happens inside is visible outside, and what happens outside is visible inside. Inspired by Hollywood’s culture of celebrity overexposure, the installation plays with the boundary between public and private space. Concept by @carlota_guerrero Materialized by @maxmilaserra
