I don’t know how I went so long without knowing you could get your own personalized fragrance from @hairizon . I went in to get my usual re-up of my favorite body butter of hemp and shea butter mixed and I saw that they had these. I got a mixture of vanilla and one of their secret scents that smells like the perfect blend of sweet and musk. But if that isn’t your thing you can pick from their array of scents and blend up your own concoction, or you can add that scent to your body butters. And for the bearded fellas they got you covered too!

What is your fave type of scent?

Y’all know I love my baths so of course I can’t let World Bath Bomb Day pass without mentioning it. This big ol soaking tub from @hyattcentricsouthparkclt was so perfect for soaking with one of my fave bath bombs from Lush. Then all you need is a good drink like @drinkseraluce and some mini cinny rolls from @milkbreadallday and you have the perfect recipe for a great bath!

Are you celebrating?

My love for a food hall runs deep and @gathergvl is doing it right. As someone who has the hardest time figuring out what they want to eat, a food hall is the best thing ever! There were plenty of food and drink options and on the day we went they even had live music. I had the shrimp basket from @palmettoseafoodco and some rum slushies from @eatmercadocantina . H had a hot dipped chicken sammie from @hendougheats and we sat in the perfect weather and chatted up some locals that sat at our table.

Do you like food halls or regular sit down restaurants?

There is something about live music that is so special. Being surrounded by tons of people vibing to music that everyone loves is amazing. Plus hearing @hozier voice live right in front of me was healing to my soul! Can’t believe his first show of the tour was right here in Raleigh!!!
Def going to prioritize more experiences this year! Thanks @hlg_75 for going with me and making it even more special!

One of the most fun experiences that we had was going to @swamprabbittrail in @visitgreenvillesc that is a 28 mile multi-use greenway along the Reedy River. This was not only one of the coolest grocery stores with everything from premade meals, hot sandwiches(from @swamprabbitcafe ), fresh produce, coffee but also fresh flowers and bread baked daily. Also since it was our first time there we got a free loaves of bread. I had to try their Chipotle Sweet Potato Salad that was fantastic! If I had more room in our fridge in the hotel I would have gotten more.

Outside there were a ton of benches to eat your provisions and even a little play area for the kiddos.

Another cool thing that you can do is rent bikes and ride down the trail and on a beautiful day it def gets used. It was such a beautiful area for families to come and enjoy!!

One of my fave things about Knoxville was all of the history and art that was literally everywhere. From the Woman’s Suffrage Movement Statue, to the old factory warehouses downtown and all the amazing art and graffitti all over. The artist in Tennessee are truly talented. ✨Wanna see more? Have y’all ventured to @visitasheville to try @goodhotfish yet? If not this is your sign to do that! I got the fish sandwich and it was thicc! The sauce that come on it was amazing! I could have drank it! I also had the fish sticks because when I saw it on the menu I was intrigued! I was happy to see that it was big thick slices of fish and their delicious sauce! It came with a side of pork rinds and I got hush puppies. This place was def worth the drive!

Every year from Feb to March 4(my bday) I do what I call a mini Lent and for Lent I give up alcohol. As I’ve gotten older my relationship with alcohol has changed and with that my love for mocktails has grown. The good things about this other than the health reasons are that it makes me(the hubs) have to get really creative with mocktails. We are lucky now to live in a time with really great zero proof spirits like @drinkdromme . Not only do they taste delicious and complex they are made with ingredients that are good for you.

To make this mocktail:

2oz of @drinkdromme Awake
Splash of Rubarb Verbena Shrub from @redrootco
Top it off with @fevertree_usa Tree Ginger Beer

Did you go to @tworoosters Stanley cut fill up? Fun fact you didn’t need a Stanley. I brought my 30oz non Stanley tumbler and got the same deal. You get 4 fatty scoops of icecream for 12 bucks! What’s really cool about it being in an insulated tumbler is that the icecream doesn’t melt as fast, not that it last that long around me anyway.

I really hope they bring this fun little deal back!

I know most people love waking up to a sunny day but for me, waking up to the rain is the most relaxing thing in the world. On my solo trip to Asheville, I woke up to the rain hitting the window and rolled out of bed @theradicalhotelavl and down to @afterglowavl cafe/bar, yep cafe by day bar by night, and grabbed a hot chai(they had chai on draft so I knew it would be amazing)and ham and cheese croissant. I brought it back up to the room and sat and watched the rain.

What is your fave weather?

If I see a place has a banh mi on the menu, I’m getting it! @bepvietkitchennc served up a solid bahn mi! The bread was perfect and flaky and soft and the meat was seasoned and juicy. I also grabbed a mango smoothie that was a nice sweet treat after my bahn mi.
*
*
*
*
*
*
*
#bahnmi #vietnamesefood #asianfood #hollysprings #hollyspringsnc #asianstreetfood #hollyspringsfood #durhamnc #durhamfoodie #durhamfood #ncblogger #ncfoodblogger #blackfoodbloggers #foodblogger #ncfoodfinds #ncfoodie #ncfood

Trust your bartenders! So glad this angel mixologist @dramanddraughtraleigh who made me this drink when I told him I wanted something different and not so sweet. So I picked @conniptiongin ’s barrel aged gin, and he made me this and I loved it at first sip and he told me it was a Martinez. Basically a Manhattan but with Gin.

Have you ever tried a Martinez?
