At B.A.M. Basketball & Mentoring Academy, one of our core pillars is giving back. We believe it’s crucial for our kids to understand the strength of generosity, it fosters humility and compassion, not just for themselves, but for others as well. As a community, we stand together in support, reinforcing values that extend beyond the court. Remember, it’s not about Me, it’s not about He, it’s all about WE!

Giving our youth the understanding that mistakes are a essential part of life, sports, and personal growth is crucial. We grow by learning from our mistakes and developing resilience. It's not about avoiding mistakes but about responding to them with character.

I had the opportunity to surprise the Mayor of Eatonville, Eddie Cole and my main man Hot Rod of Eatonville, Florida — the first Black incorporated town in America, officially founded in 1887. Just north of Orlando, Eatonville was built by African Americans who bought land, ran businesses, and formed a self-governed community during the post-Reconstruction era. It became a living symbol of Black resilience and self-determination.

“One name that stands out to me still: Eddie Cole. A man of principle. A teacher with presence. He was more than a coach — he was a guide. Eddie didn’t raise his voice to be heard. He led by example and left a lasting imprint.”
