POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Pt 3 So, he had been acting weird. After my continued prodding, he revealed that he had slept with a couple while on business in Chile. He then revealed he had just found out they had (after much difficulty conceiving) had gotten pregnant that night.

He didn’t say who he slept with (one, the other, both ... could the baby actually be his?) or accept ownership for cheating on me. He just said it matter of factly and then said he didn’t want to talk about it.

I was kind of in a state of shock and was internally processing what he had just told me. He was much more sexually fluid than I was, and I was curious about my comfort level with that, which we had discussed and so it wasn’t like the rendezvous was a total shock, but still, it was an omission that started to clue me into some the heavy 2nd chakra shit he was carrying.

So I was like, okay he’s being honest with me after he lied to me, but what else isn’t he telling me? I knew his financial stress level and toxic job were adding intensity and volatility to his mood. And it was just on this trip, that I started to realize, it was not the same man I met 5 months before.

He had been changing before my eyes, but in the throes of a new relationship, I was still gathering all of this awareness. It wasn’t until now (and all at once) that I was starting to see the level of omissions he carried.

The month before, my best friend and I had made a video from a project called #ConsciousTalks. In it we talk about our experiences with life, spirit, trauma, so that perhaps sharing our stories can help someone else heal, speak up or rewrite their own story.

In this particular video, we were talking about sexual trauma and forgiveness for the accuser or the one responsible for the trauma, and how powerful this had been for Katie in healing her trauma.

Known to me, he had seen that video. **Unbeknownst to me, he had been accused of sexual assault.

I knew he had a tumultuous relationship with his sister. He had mentioned it and the tension it had caused in his family. The part he left out is that this was because his sister had accused him of sexual abuse.

Continued in next post.
