Thalavara (2025)

Lead Cast: Arjun Ashokan, Revathy Sarma
Director: Akhil Anilkumar
Writers: Akhil Anilkumar, Appu Aslam
Music: Electronic Kili, Vijay Anand
Cinematography: Anurudh Aneesh
Editing: Rahul Radhakrishnan
Genre: Coming-of-age Drama

Thalavara follows Jyothish, a young man living with vitiligo, as he navigates the challenges of love, family, friendships, and society’s harsh judgments. His appearance becomes a source of insecurity and rejection, forcing him to confront the way people perceive him and, more importantly, the way he sees himself.

As Jyothish’s relationships and personal experiences unfold, he struggles with self-doubt and the desire to be accepted for who he truly is. The film takes an honest look at self-acceptance, prejudice, love, and the emotional impact of societal beauty standards, presenting Jyothish’s journey with sensitivity and realism.

At its heart, Thalavara is a coming-of-age story about learning to embrace one’s identity and finding the courage to live beyond other people’s judgments.

Since the beginning of time, we’ve believed God shaped the fate of mankind. But for His last three days on Earth, humanity held the pen.
