archive notes: On Friday, October 10, we gathered w/ our kin, close friends & AU cousins to celebrate the opening of the FBF Metal Atelier Installation at our beloved Aunts et Uncles cafe in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

The room was filled with sooo much love, the secret menu featured a “Lime Ricky” signature drink- named after our Lead Metal Artisan’s father (the OG Iron Man), kids of our kin discovered the metal art in real time w/ curious eyes, sneakers were adorned with metal embellishments & a warm fire blazed on the AU Patio to keep the folks outside cozy. 🖤

Blessingss to everyone who came/contributed to such a memorable night of metal artistry & community.

The images shown are from the perspective of our
FBF MA Kin (Van @van_ishere ), an extraordinary photographer & long time collaborator; we’re forever grateful for her eye/lens

________
For a private or intimate group tour of the install w/ FBF MA Lead Metal Artist (Friday Lynton), secure a “Lime Session” via the link in our bio.

The Micheaux Film Festival is showcasing an amazing lineup of short films from October 23-26, featuring ‘Food for the Soul,’ ‘Fufu & Soup,’ and ‘Black and Blue.’

Black and Blue follows best friends (Monique Siwa and Quincy Isaiah) who share a deep bond through music, but as their ambitions pull them apart, they’re left wondering: does love mean holding on or letting go?

In Food for the Soul, a Nigerian American (Karen Obilom) and her Black American partner (Marcus Scribner) must decide between being true to themselves or trying to live up to their families’ expectations.

Fufu & Soup is a comedy- drama about a woman (Adriyan Rae) who’s panicking about her lack of sexual experience and schemes to lose her virginity on the night of her 29th birthday.
