Lunch at @ricekitchen.co was rather disappointing. Walking up those stairs was quite odd….the service was uninspiring and the food was expensive for the experience. Hope you can do better next time…. #disappointed #dobetter #dininginsingapore

We don’t get sentimental alot. But how can we not?

It’s been 7 years since we moved into 115KG. Somewhere along the way it became more than just a workspace. It held the people, the ideas, every high and every “we’ll figure it out.” It saw us through all of it.

This one’s for everyone who’s been part of FP and made it what it is today.

ps. We are just moving out.

@foreignpolicydesign is an award-winning strategy and design studio based in Singapore. We caught up with its founding partner and creative director, @yahlengyu, about building across borders, learning through practice, the meaning of community, and why design, at its best, is a form of diplomacy.

👀 Check out more studio websites on our Examples page: link in bio.

They say people with the same heart
and the same mentality
will somehow find their way to each other.

Not long ago,
I was setting up our first NK and LFA River Valley shophouse
on a bootstrap budget,
collecting whatever I could find that felt beautiful
and meaningful.

Back then, it was never about branded things.
It was about pieces that carried a story.
Giving people a second chance.
Giving good design, and good products,
a place to belong for people who appreciate beautiful things.

Fast forward three years
from one table to more than fifty tables to feed
this journey has been deeply meaningful.

Through our new partner Race
@missracewong @thedreamrproject
who got connected while I was discharging from the hospital,
I finally got to meet people who had inspired me from afar.

A real pleasure meeting Ariake co-founder
@ariake_collection @kengo_kabashima

And reconnecting with industry furniture visionaries
@gabrieltandesign and @jeferyk @grafunkt

Seeing old friends @studioantimatter
who witnessed where we began,
and meeting new friends
who may help shape what comes next.

Moments like this remind me
how far the journey has come,
and how much stronger it becomes
when good people walk the road together.

Maybe that’s how journeys work.

You start by collecting meaningful things…
and somewhere along the way,
you realise you were actually collecting
meaningful friendships.

Because in the end,
the most meaningful things we build
are not just spaces.

They are the friendships,
the trust,
and the bittersweet journeys
we walk together.

Grateful for the day.
Looking forward to getting back to full fitness
and continuing this journey with all of you.

To good health and friendship.

Happy New Year from our fam to yours. Beyond the glitter of luck and the shine of success, we wish you something rarer — unhurried time, steady energy, and long meals that stretch into stories.

Slow mornings. Shared laughter. Tired hugs at the end of full days. Because when the noise fades, family is the real fortune.

Semoga nggak cuman berhenti sampai sini! ❤️🌱

One week of working from Bangkok with the team and the child. Meetings, work seshs, brainstorming, site-seeing, shopping, eating and some, cross fitting - all in one. (Still experimenting with Reels…might delete and redo lol)
